Likelylad
Money on him only seeing that 1 angle. Similar to the Palace/Willock situation.
morpeth mag
Was it Mike Dean on VAR today? Would explain why it went wrong.

Even with VAR in slow motion they are still making the wrong decisions when they are glaringly obvious. Are they genuinely incompetent, or does the Premiership need a full blown corruption investigation in order to sort this mess out? It'll take one of our more hot-headed managers to walk their team off the pitch to blow it all open IMO. A threat to the "Premier League product" is what it'll take. Mikky
VAR should be allowed to see every angle and if at least 2 aren’t available then he isn’t allowed to make a decision - bit like the Wolves one v Liverpool in the cup
Theregulars
We won in spite of the referee, Manchester United won thanks to the referee. I fear this is going to have to be how it is the rest of the way.

I would've been fine with them giving the penalty for the Burn pull but insist Trippier was fouled on the one where they gave the penalty. Just ridiculous levels of incompetence, the first contact between them was Reid stepping on Trippier's foot..
biggmarket
Burn should have been sent off tbh, i'm glad because we are due loads of decisions anyway. The refs and VAR can get fucked.
The Prophet
Aye, he gave the wrong decision. Burn's pull absolutely was a penalty.
Neil
I must have watched a different game tbf, he missed the pretty clear penalty on Burn and subsequently gave the wrong one, and gave what I thought were a number of dubious 50/50s your way. Kid Icarus
A slight breeze would have had more impact than Burn on their player. Discounting unconscious bias, I'd honestly say if I thought it was a pen and neither were imo.

Kid Icarus
Another newcomer. Welcome to the forum! Never ever a pen imo. I've been more impeded by my shadow than Burn's tickle today
The Prophet
Reminds me a bit of Longstaff at Wolves. A clear pull, but the player makes the most of it.
gbandit
I just don’t think you can grab someone’s arm and pull it back. It might not be much contact but it’s so easy for refs to call and give it, and we should never be holding in the area like that, especially when it’s 1 v

timeEd32
Put this in the match thread but... I think the problem with the current VAR setup is a decision gets made by a referee you can't see and there is no explanation. Tell us it hit his arm. Or tell us it's inconclusive so the referee's decision stands. There can't be no feedback on a potential goal.
Rich
I’ve seen about 10 angles and it’s not. Got me geps on as well btw.
Cf
4 minutes ago, The Butcher said: It was a clear handball like. They showed it from a couple different angles a few minutes after the incident on my feed. I would be fewming if that goal had been given against us. Watch one of the two angles that show it doesn't touch his arm in the slightest and tell me how it's a clear handball.
Stifler
Had no clue, had no control, had no one in his ear giving him any kind of support. Absolutely highlighted everything that is wrong with refereeing in this country.
joeyt
Not sure why Armstrong's was so controversial, was clear it hit his hand and impacted the ball towards the goal Surprised it took so long to overrule
Jordan
Referee and VAR out of their depth again tonight. The standard in this country is abysmal.
