The laws of the game are a shit show now and I have to suspect it's intentional, as it's a brilliant cover for selective implementation of the rules. It's not as though football was dysfunctional in 1995. Changes have been largely unnecessary and dreadfully implemented.

I've been banging on about this since they started all this tinkering, so much is now open to the interpretation of some official who isn't even at the game.

There was very little wrong with the laws before and everything, (certainly in the Premier League) you've seen recently is designed to give the big six an even easier ride, or to prolong their beloved "Super Sunday showdown" games.

Wouldn't be surprised if they start giving some bad decisions to Arsenal before long, to keep Man City in it.

Having an elite sport where nobody knows the rules is canny worrying when you think about it.

 Seems like something that would come up at some point but nah.

Was thinking the other day, would Michael Oliver supporting Newcastle stop him from being chosen to referee Liverpool, Spurs, Brighton, Man Utd, etc matches?

Don’t think so, otherwise a PL fan could basically never referee a PL game ever.

It’s either the 4-0 win over Swansea where Huth was on a booking (can’t remember if Leicester had won the title at that point tbh but it was 81st minute and they were 3 up) or Huth again in a 2-1 win over Chelsea.

Pretty sure it’s the Chelsea game. Huth was booked on 50 mins and committed another foul on 58.

Barcelona charged with corruption for payments made to a former referee between 2001 and 2018. What a horrible club they've turned out to be.

Definitely many more cases to come yet. The big clubs have been buying referees for decades.

Yeah, that doesn't look offside to me and the Soccer Saturday lot were absolutely stunned by it.

Yet more proof that the lines are either drawn in random ad-hoc fashion or the angle is adjustable to suit a certain narrative, depending on your viewpoint.

This is where the Hawkeye system that comes in next year will sort this out, as it has no human interaction, the computer does it all so no corrupt referees drawing lines as they see fit

Is that the system used in world cup? With the computer rendered players?
