Hatem needs to be as free as possible in the last third. Playing three CMs behind him would enable that. I think he'll be usel differently in different games, and rightly so.

I'll just be happy to see him get more games for us than last season.

Got a nagging feeling that that may not be a foregone conclusion.

At least we'll have the Europa and hopefully a minimum of 2 rounds in each of the domestic cups.  We've actually got a half decent squad of players to rotate for more winnable cup matches.  When everyone is fit, we have options in most areas.  Just really lack decent cover full back and only really have two quality strikers.  Which is why I hope the 4-3-3 is adopted and we rotate Ba/Cisse a bit more as the central striker.

I think we might try and mix it up even more this season and not play the same players, formation and tactics all the while.  We changed it at times last season, but sometimes we seemed a bit flat and stale.

Newcastle's Hatem Ben Harfa (knee) will not play, while Papiss Cisse, Demba Ba, Fabricio Coloccini, Cheik Tiote and Yohan Cabaye are either suffering from knocks or short of fitness.

How real is his injury?

I thought we'd somewhat start with our best eleven, I guess it's far from it.... god damnit, we need to buy a DECENT medical team instead of any player, just ridic.

Don't be slagging off wor Davey.

I saw that Hatem trained perfectly well today , any chance he might get involved in the Spurs's game ? I mean even if he's on the bench , I happy with that

Was just on his wiki page.

34 games/7 assists/7 goals.

Not bad at all, considering a few will have been sub appearances.

Can't wait to see him playing the majority of a season (fingers crossed)

Just watching the 13 minute NUFCCOMPILATION video of him.  Actually forgot how good he is over the summer!

Want to see him play tomorrow, but I get the feeling we'll only see him if we're chasing the game.  Catch 22.

It goes without saying like but I'm pretty much gay with excitement to see him again this season, it's not even just the lad's quality either, he's one of the most entertaining footballers to watch in the league, if not Europe. He's what I look forward too every match day more than anything else and I feel a crippling sadness when I don't see his name on the team sheet, regardless of the the rest of the squad.

Aye, that is a bit OTT like, but when I think about going to matches this season, him nut-megging someone on the halfway line and then sprinting past them (like he did to Neil Taylor) is the first thing I think of.

No worries mate, i am at least as gay as you on him

:gayfight:

Its brilliant to have a player like that in the squad, gives us a extra factor to get excited about.

Basically our own James McClean

That ball-trap against Stoke man.

That was the one, like. Went almost completely unnoticed by the majority of people not at the game, and even a fair few there.

Look at me, I noticed some sweet control when not many people did . . . . pathetic.
