alexf
Just one of those days where one thing goes wrong and then it's from bad to worse. Did wonder what was up with him physically today as he was barely involved at all when we were on top, which isn't like him, and then basic things like just tucking in to cover debuchy he couldn't be bothered to run 15 yards. Maybe he was il or something if we're being kind
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Hull just crowded round him. Little else he could do tbf.

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Hull just crowded round him. Little else he could do tbf. Pass it. The entire team weren't capable of stringing two passes together.
Lotus
Hull just crowded round him. Little else he could do tbf. Pass it. Yep. Pass it to players running into the spaces that Hull left by crowding him out. Hardly rocket science is it?
Jayson
He'd have been much more effective on the left, but Remy was doing the biz. We should be winning after scoring 2 against Hull anyway.
Tiotes Witch Doctor
To be fair to him the same and probably most pressing concern remains, when one player has the ball nobody is willing to move into space to offer themselves as an option, there were times where there was 3 players on Ben Arfa and not one fucker would move to help him out and give him an escape option. It really does make you wonder what Pardew actually does with the team in training.
Skirge
He can't be brilliant every game, even if it was Pardew wants.
Gallowgate Toon
He was appalling today, it wasn't so much that he was poor but his attitude was rubbish. Did nothing to up the tempo of the game and his attempts to track his man for the 3rd were abysmal, he looked at his man then just let him saunter ahead. Guest ElCid
He can't be brilliant every game, even if it was Pardew wants. No but he can make the effort of at least trying, something he certainly didn't do today!
Ameritoon
Hull just crowded round him. Little else he could do tbf. Pass it. He passed it almost everytime he got it, rarely even tried to take people on when he was crowded out.
Guest icemanblue
Hull just crowded round him. Little else he could do tbf. Pass it. He passed it almost everytime he got it, rarely even tried to take people on when he was crowded out. He really didn't, like. The pass only ever came when he was about to lose the ball. Slowed us down today, when we'd looked our best when attacking with pace. It's an off game, but it needn't have been as costly.
Super Duper Branko Strupar
He'd have been much more effective on the left, but Remy was doing the biz. We should be winning after scoring 2 against Hull anyway. Remy did the biz because they were concentrating too much on Ben Arfa and they gave Remy space. He had the right idea for the side of a front 3. Get in to the box, drive towards the back post when the ball is on the other side. That's why it's so baffling he was moved in to the centre without any support. Correct.
Ameritoon
I don't think he was good, but it was mostly down to Hull, not him. There's nothing he can do when surrounded like that but find an open man, which he did most of the time.

There's nothing he can do when surrounded like that but find an open man, which he did most of the time. He could have passed it earlier on numerous occasions and taken out 2 or 3 of their players in one move. Then he could have ran on and been given it back. Don't get me wrong, he's f***ing brilliant, but when you're surrounded all game like he was he has to be cleverer.
mrmojorisin75
He was just ganged up on today. Needed to be smarter and release it quicker, move, look for returns and be more of a provider. He didn't though. He needs to learn when to be the main man and do it himself and when to release the ball quicker. for all the talk of driving for the box before the game it's so apparent that it's not something he does in games like today...imagine if on one of the multiple occasions he'd been faced with half of hulls team he laid the ball off and immediately went driving off the ball on a run at them giving anita or cabs or whoever the option for that run...5 of them can stand in front of him and crowd him, but they can't all track his run at the same time guess we'll just have to wait for a pards epiphany on that one like
BONTEMPI
Never be world class lad if you can't perform at least 80-90 percent of your ability week in week out.
Jayson
Whats odd is we had a clear example of how to combat the situation. Debuchy overlapped properly once & they combined beautifully. If Debuchy had kept doing that, he either keeps getting in or one of theirs has to track him leaving HBA 1v1 & able to cut inside. Instead we never tried that ever again, which is awesome. biggs
Tries the same thing every time cut inside and score the same goals as previous,Pardew bigging him up is no help as he should be saying play your own game but play for the team as thats what its about ,created nowt and just not clicking for him today
Ketsbaia
Hull sorted him out, unfortunately. He was often crowded and when he broke free he'd do too much and lose it. If he plays badly, the team does.
thenige
Wasn't his on the ball performance that bothered me that much, even if he was having a bit of a 'mare, it was the lack of tracking and effort that was most frustrating. Some players if they're having a bad game roll up their sleaves and try and work twice as hard, he just looked as if he'd given up. Honestly thought Pardew was going to bring him off at half-time. Could have had no complaints if he did.

Not defending him at all, had a bad game, but he's due to have them, we can't just rely on him though.
Elliottman
I'm the lads biggest fan but that's one of his worst performances for us. Expected so much more.
Wullie
I'm the lads biggest fan but that's one of his worst performances for us. Expected so much more. So did the manager, that's the problem. Why do you think he was so smug in midweek? Thought he'd found a get out of jail free card after his showing at Villa. Surprised they even went into training this week, he should have just sent round a text saying "give it to Hatam (sic)" and let them stay at home.
