Teasy
Robert and Ben Arfa's Premier League goal ratios for Newcastle are actually very similar (goal every 4.7 games for Ben Arfa vs a goal every 4.3 games for Robert). Of course so far Ben Arfa's been playing less games than Robert did, which is why he only has 10 Premier League goals in his 3 years so far compared to Roberts 30 Premier League goals in 5 years. Robert played for us for 4 years, not 5. I love Hatem, our best player by a distance but Laurent Robert in terms of substance was magic, and on a different level. Fair enough he was on loan at Portsmouth for the last year, I was basing my opinion on goals/assists to games ratio though so it doesn't change my opinion. I loved Robert here and was often the one supporting him against idiots asking for him to be substituted, usually before he scored the winner, brilliant player But on a different level to Ben Arfa?, fuck off
Ronaldo
In terms of substance I think he was.
Mole_Toonfan
You couldn't fail to love Laurent if you were an NUFC fan of sound mind from 01-05. One of my favourite players ever.... NUFC or otherwise.
Teasy
In terms of substance I think he was. Yeah fair enough Robert contributed more than Ben Arfa has so far no doubt, but I think injuries are the main reason for that. Certainly per game their goal ratio is very similar, lets just hope he gets enough games here to hit as many goals as Robert did I didn't make that one! Edit: oh Robert's, yeah I did Wait, you didn't make the Robert video with clocks playing over it did you??
Zero
Both are magnificant. Ben arfa is more consistent though.
TaylorJ_01
Robert is probably my favourite player ever. Ridiculous level of talent. Plus the fact he was totally batshit
TheHoob
Robert played for us before I took much of an interest in football but I remember bits and pieces of him. Watched a compilation on YouTube of him recently and some of the goals he scored were rediculous, fairly sure some of those aren't actually possible
Kanj
In terms of giving f***s, Robert certainly gave none. One of my favorites to ever wear our shirt and one of my personal favorite players ever. Some of the things he did man, my goodness that magical left foot of his. TaylorJ nailed it too, another one of those crazy lads who's played for us you can't help but love. Hatem has every bit of skill and talent to go on and be remembered forever as one of our greats if he gets himself fit enough to play multiple full seasons relatively injury free and signs a new deal with us. Vinny Green Balls
Robert's freekicks were ridiculous. Phenomenal player, and certainly one of my favorites.
Ronaldo
Derby away, man. Who the fuck just blasts it straight at the keeper from 30 yards out?
Guest
That was my favourite one. The angle he was and just smacked it. Kick started the Champions League push too because we were on a bad run and 0-2 down at that point.
Ronaldo
Yep, he was brilliant in that second half.
AlanSkÃrare
Derby away, man. Who the f*** just blasts it straight at the keeper from 30 yards out? Fucked up the way he smacked that. One of my favourite ever NUFC games as well. Also very fond of the one he hit against Liverpool in the FA Cup (03/04). Through everybody and everything. Dudek would have died if he tried to save it. nufc4eva
Seems so so long ago when Robert was here, loved watching him play.
Varadi
Robert was absolutely fantastic mind. Everyone remembers his long range shooting but he also had a wicked cross on him - pace, spin and dip, when he got them right they were impossible to defend. Guest
Aye his range of free-kicks was amazing. Normally with a set-piece specialist you know what you get, but he could place them around the wall (Bolton away first season, Blackburn home second season), curl them top corner (Man U), smash them (Derby, Southampton, Liverpool in the cup). Superb.
nobby_solano
Robert on the left wing, Solano on the right, Big Al and Bellamy up top We played some cracking football under Sir Bobby
Paully
Robert on the left wing, Solano on the right, Big Al and Bellamy up top We played some cracking football under Sir Bobby Dyer and Speed in the middle as well! Robert was absolutely magic and is the best left winger I've seen at NUFC! Ginola was a lot more skilful but Robert produced a hell of a lot more! Cajun
I loved Robert's corners, they were either ridiculously good or ridiculously bad With the likes of Speed and Shearer on the pitch when the corners came off they were pretty much guaranteed to be a goal. Absolutely hammered them in so when you had players so good in the air it was a perfect match.
AlanSkÃrare
That midfield and frontline is unreal. And as for finishing 4th on 71 points with a back four of Hughes - Dabizas - O'Brien - Elliott. Compared to Pardew who struggles to stay up when he has to pair Taylor and Yanga-Mbiwa. Guest neesy111
Putting pace on corners and crosses is what we miss now. Far easier to put a header away when you don't need to put much power into it.
Guest
I didn't make that one! Edit: oh Robert's, yeah I did I'm sure West Ham is missing. The one where he dinks it over the keeper, hits the post and follows it in.

TaylorJ_01
The YT Robert video is amazing, the widescreen one with coldplay I think. Unsure if it's a Sewelly.
