Sifu
Newcastle can draw: Plzen, Fenerbahce, S.Bucuresti, Dnipro, Genk, Rubin, Lyon, Lazio, Metalist, Hannover, Cluj, Olympiakos, Benfica Not bad. Got a decent chance of progressing to the last 16 imo...
Guest
Genk must be the dream tie there?
Jill
Canny selection there. Definitely some potential for another away trip too.
Beren
Genk must be the dream tie there? Just saw their game. They're better than we have been this season.
Ikon
Hope we get Lyon!
Godot
Now things are starting to get a bit exciting. Bucuresti or Plzen would be the best draw to keep the dream of winning alive. Everyone else looks very tough. The Ukranian sides have been doing very well in this comp the last few years. Benfica are the nightmare draw.
54
I'm kind of glad we didn't win today based on the unseeded teams.
Beren
Home tie a sell out, do we think? Or does it depend if we get Lazio or Genk?
ponsaelius
Home tie a sell out, do we think? Or does it depend if we get Lazio or Genk? Nee chance regardless of opposition IMO.
Beren
Might try and go up for this then. Couldn't get to any of the group stage ties.
Godot
Does anyone want to face an English team at some stage or would that be a bit boring?

Lush Vlad
Newcastle can draw: Plzen, Fenerbahce, S.Bucuresti, Dnipro, Genk, Rubin, Lyon, Lazio, Metalist, Hannover, Cluj, Olympiakos, Benfica Not much between the seeded and unseeded teams really. Some horrible trips for anyone fancying another away day though and I suppose playing the away leg second might have an effect. No holiday left for me to book off until April, so hoping we last until then........ yeah right. The ones in bold will be tough. Obviously know sod all about a lot of these teams, but I can't see us going through if we draw any of the teams highlighted.
Unbelievable
Draw for last 32 and last 16 is december 20th btw.
maybe_next_year
any reason why there is such a long wait for the draw?
ujpest doza
This has probably already been talked about but I can't be arsed to search, now that Chelsea are entering the competition will our games be televised at all? Doubt it. Unless 3 English teams play at the same time we will be. At the beginning of the season UEFA Said that the kick off times of 6 and 8.05 were set so that there was the possibility of maximum TV exposure for all clubs from each country by not having them all kick off at the same time. ITV4 and ESPN will still share the games with 2 at 6PM and 2 at 8.05PM.
bowlingcrofty
Newcastle can draw: Plzen, Fenerbahce, S.Bucuresti, Dnipro, Genk, Rubin, Lyon, Lazio, Metalist, Hannover, Cluj, Olympiakos, Benfica Fancy a trip to any of those except for Lazio, for safety reasons really. Genk, Steaua or Lyon would be quality.

Guest Geordiesned
nufc.com saying there's nothing to stop us drawing Bordeaux again but pretty sure that Bert Kassie site said you can't draw anyone from your group in the next round? EDIT: .com is wrong. c) The winners and runners-up of the same group cannot be drawn against each other,

Disco
Was having a butchers earlier, it's £300+ for flights to Kazan, madness. Kharkiv and Dnipro' at massively inaccessible n all. Ideal would be Genk, Steaua or Plzen for trip + chance of getting through IMO.
Wallace
FWIW guy from Thomas Cook yesterday said they would be running trips for all our remaining Europa games. Might be an option for the more difficult locations.
ross magoo
Flights to Kiev usually aren't too expensive and you can get the train from Kiev to Kharkiv. You'd need about 5 days away though for all the travelling.
