DAVIDE Santon could line up at right-back for Newcastle United this season – but Alan Pardew still sees his future at left-back.

“Davide Santon’s the left-back here – that’s his favourite position – but it might well be that Davide and Ryan Taylor start at right-back and left-back.

:scared:

If that happens the club will have hit a new low. There´s NO WAY we will take a top 4 or 6 finish with a mighty Raylor as a starter.

Even if it not might be Debuchy (how dumb can you be if we can´t get him?!) we must buy someone else.

'kin 'ell.

This is not particularly new news, and hell, for the haters out there this could be pretty positive news.

No heavy mention of Simpson suggests that he may well be off. If we are able to bring in a better replacement like Debuchy, we will. If not, we have a contingency plan.

I think I'll be done with Newcastle if we dont manage to push this deal through.

Support the team down the road then

Are they signing Debuchy? If so I can see a lot on here being tempted to switch.

Even yourself no doubt!

/perfectly understandable if you do of course, not having a go. :aww:

Ryan Taylor was one of the main reasons we had such a good start. Scored a couple of cracking goals. One in particular of course....the Debuchy thing is dragging on as Lille dig their heels in (can't blame them really)

Rudi Garcia talks about Mathieu Debuchy

26/07/12

Rudi Garcia has also used the press conference to answer questions on Mathieu Debuchy.

"There is nothing new about the future of Mathieu. He spoke on his side. In our case, we are always dependent on an alternative to the same level in his position, so as not to deplete the team. This is the status quo for now on this issue. "

In short, Lille are being sensible and holding onto him until they find a replacement, which is clearly not Sidibe judging from this.

he played 32 games last year and we finished 5th  and its probably not that simple otherwise we'd have got him, lille must be being hard to work with. we dont know the full story.

Played quite well actually until Saylor went down and whole back-line started to falter. Wouldn't want him starting again if we can help it, but we turned out just fine with him playing as much as he did.
