henke
Hope he gets a start tonight. Aye. Dropping him seems a bit unfair after his performances when Cabaye was injured.
Wullie
Pardew clearly hasn't got the first idea how to utilise Anita. Don't know why we persist with a manager unable to get the best out of our assets. Doesn't kick it long enough, doesn't put enough of a "tackle in" therefore doesn't get a game. Dr. Nguyen Van Falk
Aye, the worst part is a manager who actually knows what he's doing with this set of players would be awesome

mrmojorisin75
so he never played then? fuck a fucking duck
littlelunchbox
I do think there is merit to physical presence in the PL though, as cliched as it sounds. Anita is class but he doesn't stand a chance when the ball's pinging around everywhere. Maybe to a certain point, but I always use the makelele example, one of the smallest players to had ever graced the prem and of the best if not the best to had ever played in that defensive holding midfield role. Eddy Chibas
Midfield three of Cabaye, Tiote & Anita would sit well with me. Tiote's physicality & defensive workrate, Anita' run & carry, and Cabaye's passing range & playmaking qualities. A balanced skillset (as a midfield unit) on offer, i'd be happy with that. Probably deployed as a 1-2, with Anita & Cabs slightly more advanced on either side. Tiote sitting deep with the cardio & workrate to cover the fbs (who would add width). mrmojorisin75
they'd possibly be my 3 too, assuming tiote can stop being fucking horrible for a while tiote cabs-anita hba sissoko cisse or perhaps cabs-anita sissoko hba gouffran cisse think i maybe prefer the latter
Kanj
Gouffran is a must-start for me after his 2 matches for us. He and HBA flanking Cisse.
mrmojorisin75
yeah, i've really taken to him myself...looks like the player we thought obertan would be
AyeDubbleYoo
Sometimes when he gets the ball I think it's Obertan for second, then he does something good.
mrmojorisin75
still say you could probably coach being an effective striker into obertan myself given the right circumstances, as it is we should really be looking for a buyer ASAP he's a waste of skin and wages for us now really

Ikon
I really want him to start against Southampton instead of Tiote, his vision and passing is superior to Tiote's. Releases the ball much quicker which gives us an advantage and better space and time for the player that receives the ball from him. I think by playing him Cabaye would naturally not end up too deep. Want Cabaye where he was against Chelsea, dictating the play and tempo with Sissoko dragging the opposition out of position with HBA and Gouffran as well. Tiote's one or two extra seconds holding on to the ball makes a very big difference to our fluidity.

Imagine our passing and move with him, Cabaye, Moussa, Hatem and Gouffran in midfield. Not even fair.
AyeDubbleYoo
Gouffran is nothing like Obertan. He looks a bit like him from a distance, that's all I meant.
The College Dropout
Cabaye/Tiote has always been effective offensively and defensively. I'd be more confident of a clean-sheet with Tiote in the side and i'm confident we'll score regardless as much as I like Anita.
Ikon
Personally i think the Cabaye/Tiote partnership has been a bit overrated.
LRD
Personally i think the Cabaye/Tiote partnership has been a bit overrated. As a midfield two, Nolan/Tiote saw arguably more effective results.
The College Dropout
Look at the results. Speaks volumes. Cabs does more donkey work without Tiote, Tiote does.... sigh.. Tiote tries too much without Cabs.
Beren
Personally i think the Cabaye/Tiote partnership has been a bit overrated. Disagree - I think they both look happiest playing their football together (not that their happiness is the be all, end all but you know what I mean, I hope).
