Keeps things ticking over and gets about a bit, key to us keeping the ball

He's key to everything we do in terms of possession, like you said, keeps us ticking. Rarely misses a pass, always tries with the most simple things and does win balls in the middle even for his size he's able to get stuck in. Just absolutely love this guy.

Impressive from both. Anita did play a lot more balls forward today, looking at that Cabaye passing stat is even more impressive.

Decent today IMO, but nothing out of the ordinary. What he gives us though is more than his individual performance. It allows us to free up Cabaye and takes some of the workload off Tiote which has obvious benefits. Always keeps things ticking over nicely, even if he doesn't stand out. And that's invaluable.

Yeah, previously Cabaye needed to play a bit deeper because we didn't have anyone else who could really pick a pass in midfield, but with him there, it lets Cabaye play 20 yards or so further up the pitch and Anita is the one who can get the ball off the centre-backs and just keep the thing.

Thought he and Tiote did well personally. It was the wide lads that where disappointing.  Cabaye and Remy then looked isolated.

first 15-20 definitely, after that gouffran did try to support remy or take that spot if remy went wide but in a very tight game getting any sort of space is precious.

no reason at all why he was dropped, him, tiote, cabaye.  remy in front of them and pick 2 from the rest.

Aye, it was ridiculous dropping him today. Him and Ben Arfa seems to have to do twice as much as anyone else to not be dropped.

He was probably dropped to bolster our striking options with Shola  :iamatwat:

it was bizarrely. he was dropped to play 4 in the middle.
