Aye I just picked the Ukranian with the most tackles rather than anything scientific. In retrospect would make more sense for Chiellini in and Zinchenko LB

Considered the same change but Spinazzola was too good to leave out. Plus sympathy points for getting injured.

Chiellini

Dumfries

Pogba
KdB
Pedri

Sterling
Schick
Ronaldo

Very hard to do. Notable that there has not been that many good right back performers, but loads of good left-backs/wing backs (Spinazzola, Shaw, Gosens, Maehle, Zinchenko, Zuber).

Been an entertaining Euros. The Round of 16 was insane.

I feel that too what little have seen have it was been way more entertaining than I imagined albeit seems poor quality, but the format is what they're getting at

The format is, was and always will be wrong though.  Stupid before a pandemic. Pathetic beyond belief during one.

A team that wasn't the official host has had almost exclusively home matches all tournament whilst Switzerland and others get zig-zagged all over the place to empty stadiums in some cases.

In retrospect it might've been a better idea to have the semi-finals elsewhere to prevent one team from having nearly all their games at home. Try and give everyone at least one home game in the group stage too.

Was a bit of a joke England pretty much being the only country with home advantage all the way through, like.

But we’d have been the only country with home advantage if we’d hosted it..?

All the big teams have benefitted from playing games at home throughout the groups nearly, and someone had to host the semis/final. Really don’t see the issue with that. Main issue has been some teams having to dart about Europe. Should’ve had it with group games hosted in one country & had teams in one place for their L16/QF games if they wanted to persist with the daft format, or just hosted in all over here.

Agree with this. Each group in a different country. Then the two sides of the draw in 1 country each (say Italy & Spain) for R16/QF, then Semis and Final in Wembley. Would've meant any nation has to travel a maximum of 3 times between rounds.

 something like this would have been better. The concept of having it in different countries was OK as a novelty, although a bit iffy with the Covid situation. UEFA clearly didn't consider the signficant travel disparity properly though, which is what made this setup a bit unfair.

It's been great entertainment for a casual viewer like myself, one of the best tournaments in recent memory.

As a match going fan if you wanted to follow your team, you'd have to travel across the continent (hot on the heels of a pandemic) at great expense. Similarly players having to fly from Baku to Copenhagen to Seville is madness.

So aye, very watchable stuff, but as usual the players and more importantly the match going fans were an afterthought.

True, but the rest of the teams would have been playing all of their matches within 3-400 miles every game rather than Baku, Rome, Seville, Copenhagen, etc.

UEFA tried to twist a pan-European tournament as a 60 year celebration one-off when actually it was because they just couldn't find somebody willing to host it at the time with the financial situation Europe was in. Turkey was the only real candidate but didn't put together much of a bid.

Problem with the expanded tournament is it makes it very hard for anybody other than a few big countries to host. You're probably going to need 3/4 smaller joint host countries in some cases. Admittedly with 24 teams it also becomes less of an issue to have so many automatically qualify.

3 Italians too. I thought we were doing one for each country?

Donarumma

Dumfries

Pepe

Christeansen

Zinchenko

Pedri

Pogba

Xhaka

Sterling

Forsberg

Schick
