Dr Venkman
I still think he'll turn out to be the best of the January buys. Sissoko had the initial impact and Debuchy's the most consistent right now imo.

Tooj
Thiago-Nesta are phsyically immense all-rounders. Even when Nesta lost a fair bit of his pace he was still very strong and great in the air. If Barcelona can have Mr. Gutsnglory Puyol so can we. Puyol can also play football though.
Lotus
Perhaps. It's just never happened in the PL. Vermaelen & Koscielny?

The College Dropout
Thiago-Nesta are phsyically immense all-rounders. Even when Nesta lost a fair bit of his pace he was still very strong and great in the air. If Barcelona can have Mr. Gutsnglory Puyol so can we. Puyol can also play football though. So can John Terry. It's not one of the prime things that makes him a top player. Vermaelen/Kos doesn't work but not because of a lack of strength/aerial threat. Most great defensive partnerships have a complimentary mix. Just look at the great partnerships in the last 5 years. Sidenote: Always felt Pepe/Ramos were too similar. Yorkie
Not convinced. I'm convinced that he's going to be a very good player. Beyond the fact he's still adapting to the club, he's still very young as it is, and I've seen enough raw ability that suggests he's a good footballer that could easily turn into an excellent one. Some of his decision-making is absolutely gash, as it stands.
Lenny
I'm convinced by his defensive capabilities, but on the ball he has very questionable decision making.
Ronaldo
Not convinced. For a ball-playing CB he's not great at playing the ball. Good defender who's going to be great, though.
Guest NobbyOhNobby
Just remember Coloccini in his first season, Mbiwa's already been better than that so just imagine how good he'll be next year (hopefully)
Dave
His decision-making is suspect at times. He'll learn, not worried in the slightest.
Ted Maul
Key moment around the 80 minute mark when we were piling the pressure on, Benfica had a rare attack - he got the ball and tried to take on their player on the edge of his own box, lost it, then ran over and hacked the Benfica player. Took the sting right out of us and killed our momentum, took a solid 5 minutes to recover. Think in terms of the whole game we did okay though
Mole_Toonfan
His decision-making is suspect at times. He'll learn, not worried in the slightest. Aye basically, he has problems of when to dribble and when to pass but as you say he will learn.

Smal
I hope we don't coach all the flair out of him though. I love a centre half who can dribble past a couple of players.

Hope he's OK for Sunday.

Gallowgate Toon
His passing ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous, it has to be said. I'm sure it'll all click into place for him on the distribution front, he was very assured on the ball in his first few games here, it's probably a confidence thing. Flip
All about adapting and getting more comfortable. We tend to forget he's only 23. More experience and he will stop doing those concentrations lapses. No doubt he'll be a top top defender for us in 5-6 years time, if we haven't gone down or sold him by then. Cajun
Class act who occasionally makes a stupid decision. With age and adaptation to the league I have more concerns about losing him than him not being good enough.
