AyeDubbleYoo
Very pleased with how he happily went to the byline on his left foot a few times. Something many players won't do and has limited us in the past.
Zero
I think Gouffy is better than Ba and offer us something that we desperately need for a long time.

Wilson
He's not better than Ba like Really pleased he seems to have hit the ground running, such a shame we can't use him in Europe.
The College Dropout
His and Moussa's movement has really transformed our attacking play. I still think there is too much space between our lines at times, but the counter-attack we scored or first from yesterday would never, ever have happend without those two in the side. Gouffran on the shoulder of his defender, Moussa bursting forward in a second wave. It's a new dimension. With Cissé, Ba Ben Arfa we could look similar at times towards the end of last season, but Demba's movement wasn't anywhere near as good as Gouffran's is. Add to that the fact that Sissoko does the job of a second striker and a third midfielder - a modern outlook. Ba's movement is superb, for a #9. Gouffran is a second striker/inside forward so it suits our team much better. He, Cisse and Siss start from different areas and naturally make different runs. I hope Cisse can regularly find the back of the net.

Ikon
He's better than Ba in 'general' play. But not as good as a striker. Fits like a glove for us.
Incognito
The epitome of an under rated player. With him and Hatem flanking Papiss, we're going to really stuff someone soon.

Tiresias
I wouldn't mind seeing him as a central striker in a 4-3-3 i suppose, not suggesting it in that current system works well and i want to see cisse scoring again but this could be a nice formation to control games possession wise Krul Deb Yanga-Mbiwa Colo Santon Tiote Anita Cabaye Sissoko HBA Gouffran
timeEd32
I think he'd be kind of wasted as a central striker in a 4-3-3. His tracking back and work rate is a big part of what makes him valuable. Once Hatem slots in for Jonas (this better be the move), it's going to be imperative that he continues that as we'll be missing it on the other side. Tiresias
Well with him tracking back we'd cram the midfield severely and still have 3 pacey players up top. Think it'd be an option when we don't want to counter (which is what our 4-2-3-1 seems set up to do)
Mole_Toonfan
If we can prevent it i would rather not see Gouffran as CF until we have better wide options, as of right now its all well and good in wanting to see him there but fact is outside of Gouffran and Ben Arfa our wing options are pretty much garbage. If we can sort that out in the summer i wouldn't mind seeing him tried there now and again but at the moment the options are horrid to even consider it. Unless Cisse gets injured of course then we are pretty much forced to do so.
Tiresias
If Pardew was desperate to see out a game I'd prefer he subbed Anita on for Cisse and shifted to that, than stuck perch on for cabaye or such.

Ronaldo
Anita's not up to yet it imo and Cisse's my favourite player, so bias comes into it, I guess.

Gallowgate Toon
Not too convinced Gouffran would work that well in a central role here, as a stand-in perhaps, but not permanently. A lot of his goals in France were Ba-esque finishes in the box, mainly from crosses, but I think he'd really struggle to find space in the same way with more hands-on defenders. His best role is coming in to the box from wide and causing havoc with his movement. He'll get plenty of goals from there IMO.

Ba works best centrally and Gouffran went from a fairly infrequent scorer to someone getting 1 in 2 when moved centrally. I am certainly in no rush to move him as he has been exceptionally floating about for us and I have full confidence in Cisse but if he had to move into a more central position I would have very little concerns about him doing the job. Hanshithispantz
I have a small inkling that Papiss Cisse is probably a far better striker and goal-scorer than Gouffran and we should probably leave him where he is.
Gallowgate Toon
I agree he could do a job, but the majority of his goals when moved central for Bordeaux were finishes in the box from crosses/scrambles. That's OK in this league with a more strong, determined striker like Ba, but in the box defending is far more powerful here than in France, and I think Gouffran would struggle to get those opportunities while more closely marked.
