So we are going to The USA, not playing any team from the MLS, and playing an also ran from Morrocco. Ok Lyon is good fixture, but it's hardly going to increase our reputation which is what these flours are designed to do.

Bilbao and Southampton have some historical ties (the shirt, for starters), so I guess that's why they went for a Southampton player for the inaugural award.

This is fun. Real Madrid have admitted to have funded astroturfing campaigns via social media, blogs, etc... to - for example - generate favorable states of opinion, improve the image of unpopular players, create the impression that refereeing is unfavorable to them, undermining certain journalists regarded as hostile...

 

I mean, I'm aware this is probably commonplace, but it's the first time I see a club admitting to buying media plants, and I wonder to what extent clubs do it.

 

This was done within a court case (that doesn't involve directly them), where the company they hired to perform the astroturfing is being investigated for bribes and fraud.
