Agreed, but he must have knew there was a high chance he'd end up getting into bother by wearing it in a pub.

I imagine he wanted the attention, not realising that he could be arrested for it.

 

Which is ridiculous.

 

If someone in the US wore that tshirt and it said 9/11 instead of Hillbrorough he would have been shot dead on the spot.

As long as it doesn't openly incite violence, sure you can.

So you can't have 100% free speech then?

 

Sigh, no, you can't literally say anything you want. I shouldn't have bitten because it's not what's up for debate, "100%" freedom of speech.

I honestly had no idea where you were going with it.

 

In any case, I think openly mocking the biggest sporting disaster in British history can be argued as trying to incite violence. Arresting him was the right decision (he hasn't actually been jailed).
