1) Pardew out and a good manager in.

2) Upgrade the coaching staff

3) Upgrade the medical staff and physios.

4) Signing some quality players and diversify the league/nationality we sign them from.

I like this - how do we make things better? Make everything better.

It started like this....

Season 11/12 finishes on a high....

Poor pre-season....

Poor transfer window....

Manager already on a downer about extra games in Europe before a ball is kicked....

Fans' high/ish but realistic enough expectations for the season already dampened before a ball has been kicked....

WE BEAT SPURS and start the season well enough....

WHEY HEY....

We lose our way a bit....

Get some injuries....

But the season is still long....

Go out of the League Cup....

Go out of the FA Cup....

We done well enough in the Europa though so....

INJURIES....

String of poor home defeats....

Go into Jan close to the drop zone....

PANIC....

SHITT....

Sign a million French lads....

WE WON THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS....

OMG we are great....

we even beat Villa....

Then more defeats....

A few more too....

We beat Stoke....

WE ARE SAFE....

Urgh, 3-0 defeat to the mackems....

6-0 defeat to the scousers....

SHITT, WE ARE GANNING DOON....

Rumours of broken dressing room etc....

Club bans reporters and Telegraph.....

FERGIE RETIRES....

Moyes appointed LOLZ...

f***ing hell, it is all or nothing going into the QPR match....

WE WON....

WE ARE SAFE....

f*** OFF PARDEW....

Exactly.

Mostly Pardew but I reckon Williamson cost us Reading home. We had a reaction off that one, so it wasn't a momentum changer or anything. So mostly Pardew.

Cisse right wing ffs.

Europe can't be an excuse if it was a target of the club to qualify for Europe ffs.

a year early  :frantic:

It's not as if Europe should even be an excuse. We bombed out of the domestic cups so we didnt have a stupid amount of extra games.

The obvious Pardew out, a serious look at our training/medical side of things because the amount of muscle strains etc has been ridiculous.

It's a good question, and one I've asked before. If our poor season is mostly down to injures, then we either need to take a long, hard look at improving things or we accept that the only thing that determines a good season or a bad season is sheer luck.

If we're sticking with Pardew then i'd expect a top to bottom review of our coaching staff, schedules and methodologies.  Whatever we're doing on the training ground clearly either isn't translating onto the pitch or isn't good enough for premiership football.

Sit down and honestly go through the coaching team assessing the strengths of each member and what they bring to the table.  Anyone who is felt to to be lacking in either competence or application last season should be let go and replaced.

He needs to be told that our attacking play is a shambles and we expect him to develop and implement a recognisable, coherent pattern of play which will be the primary focus of our training at all levels of the club.  This 4 days of defensive training shite has to go to.

That's just for starters.  So much easier and more sensible to simply bring in a better manager who will do all this by default instead of trying to turn Carl Cort into Patrick Kluivert.

You know we are stuck with him. The chancers who run the club will not to pay off his contract and the TV money is now in the bag so it is mission acomplished.

Out of interest can anyone remember the injuries we had under Allardyce (IIRC not great). I ask because he brought that ridiculously big backroom staff with him.

Something always seems to be up with the injury side of thing because we normally seem to get more than our fair share of injuries and there has to be an underlying reason as to why its been going on for most seasons not just this one

People and the media might try and give excuses such as Europe and having too many French players, but those are rubbish.  Anyone who's watched us regularly can see it's the manager's fault.

IMO it goes beyond just Pardew being inept at the coaching and management of the first team squad. The real inquest that Ashley himself should conduct should involve all strategic football decision-making processes at the club.

Match day football

Training (General & match specific)

Recruitment

Medical (fitness, injury prevention, rehab)

Reserves & Youth development

Squad harmony & team building

Media & press management (pertaining to communication with the fans)

It seems to me that every single one of the above facets has been mediocre or dealt with a dismissive off-hand manner this season. It didn't seem that way in our Championship season or our first season back (even under Pardew after Hughton left). The first signs of it started last season.

Ashley should identify who is responsible for the strategic over-see of all of the above, and sack them on the spot. If that person is Pardew or Llambias, or A.N.Other. s*** is about to get serious next season with the increased TV revenue, and relegation should be an unthinkable thing for a club our size.
