Have to feel bad for Jonas honestly.  He was one of three or so players actually giving a shit on the pitch, gave 100% and looked relatively sharp (despite his obvious weaknesses) unlike some others.

45 minutes in to the new season and I'm ready to throw in the fucking towel already.  What are you doing to me Pardew?

Also it should've been Cisse to come off, not Gouffran.  I think Pardew is just wishing for some massive stroke of luck and for Cisse to pull something spectacular out of his ass.

Agree about Cisse, he's unlikely to get anything at all. Obviously will be withdrawn for Shola eventually anyway like.

Just read this, and yes we have to feel bad, but he can give 150% he's still absolutely wank and it will do the team the world of good if he's out for a couple of months unfortunately.

Same, Jonas was alright.

No player has been particularly bad really, except Taylor for the stupidity. Just can't live with the fluidity of their attacks.

The performance as a whole hasn't actually been that bad, just can't cope with some of City's attacking. Not really that surprising.

Ironically we now probably have one of the best back four and midfield lineups that Pardew can put out, shame we needed an injury and a red card to get there.

Silly from Taylor but unlucky to be actually sent off. Wouldn't be surprised to see another red with the amount of bookings we've had.

Spot on.  Fair enough, we're gonna get bummed but there have been good signs in our play.  We're keeping it on the deck, looking to pass through them, Ben Arfa looks well up for it.  There's some positives to take from this for sure.

We've been lucky not to have two pens against us tbf. Had a few decent triangles, decent movement for small periods, but they're finding lines between our defence with far to much ease.
