joeyt
Newcastle have approached AS Monaco for Aymen Abdennour, despite receiving negative indications from the player's entourage. More to follow. from GFN Turns out he wants to play European football and not be in a relegation battle. Weirdo
LRD
Really silly of him to want that. Could come here and play for half a season, then take a vacation for the other half.

Cronky
Is that Will Hughes guy actually any good or another Zaha/Ince/Delph style world beater? Really skilful, determined player with a brain on him. The main question mark would be his ability to handle the physical side at the top level.
r0cafella
http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2015/newcastle-united-and-aymen-abdennour-the-situation/ In the last days, Newcastle United have made an enquiry to AS Monaco concerning defender Aymen Abdennour. Get French Football News reported that Newcastle had made an approach to the player’s entourage in April, but that their advances were rejected at the time. Abdennour has concrete interest from Valencia, Wolfsburg, Tottenham and several other sides. Newcastle United have neglected the fact that they have received negative indications from the player’s entourage and have stepped up their interest this week by approaching AS Monaco over the player. Abdennour has recently signed a contract extension with Monaco until 2019. Player isn't interested but we are still trying to bid for him. Sounds familiar doesn't it? toontownman
Will be interesting to see who he tries to grab from his Derby pool of players. Saw them play a bit last year, have family that watch them a bit and live in Derby. I'd take Johnson and Ince. Pretty much it though. Russell is essentially a little bit better version of gouffran, very hard working, quick..wouldnt be the worst squad player. Martin is slow as fuck.. the second coming of Micky Quinn. Bent found his level in the championship Thorne is highly thought of but has been crocked forever. Really wouldn't touch anyone else.

Ketsbaia
That's the thing - we dwell on Derby's freefall but, to be honest, their squad wasnt that good to begin with. By setting the pace for so long, they were overachieving.
The Prophet
That Derby squad is a lot stronger than the likes of Brentford, Ipswich and even Bournemouth. There's also some serious bollocks being spouted above about individual players. You could literally do it with any team: Oh Costa is good but he's injured all the time, Matic is just a better version of Tiote. As for that John Terry he's not very fast, it would be like the return of Sol Campbell!
