NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

I wonder what kind of technology we're using for all this monitoring? I'm thinking Charnley with a spyglass, while other clubs are using drones.

"Low budget magic mirror on the wall, who's the most profitable player of them all? What big name can we make a bid forth, that there won't be any risk that we will get?"

To be fair to the club, the last manager to be appointed in the summer, Sam Allardyce, just splurged a load of money on players he wanted to buy for Bolton. Remember David Rozehnal?

I would hope McClaren is studying our last few seasons trying to figure out what players we can bring in to make best use of the talents we already have.

Pleased we're getting some decent coaches for once. I'd be more interested if they can turn around some of the shithouses we have on the books. At least that part is looking intriguing. Now fucking sign some players Charley you mug.

I'm not panicing just yet. Last summer we signed the Ajax captain and Internationals in Cabella and Janmaat. The De Jong deal came out of nowhere and usually a lot of our deals do. Cabaye, Sissoko, Gouffran weren't reported much in the press and the bam we signed them. I feel that we'll sign some quality players. No need to go shopping in the Championship just yet. We're much better than that.

That's one of the things that keep me, not optimistic, but not panicing eather.. The club doesn't talk to press, so IF something actually is on - they wouldn't say.

A very small part of me is predicting a string of announcements in early July to encourage a huge wave of ST sales. Monday - assistant manager, Tuesday - rest of the staff, Wednesday - this signing, Thursday - that signing, Friday - the sheep return. Probably unlikely but we are going to sign players at some point. Might as well milk it for all they can especially given the murmurs of poor sales.

Players will be signed for sure! The quality of them on the other hand... But not even Newcastle can do nothing, almost relegated last year...

Unfortunately the list of players who have signed for NUFC recently and seen their International careers suffer drastically must be putting a lot of potential players off with the Euros coming up. Krul, Anita, Cabella, MYM, HBA, Cisse,  Tiote, Colo, all used to regularly start for their countries, most of them don't even make the squads now.

We are a graveyard for players with International aspirations, no wonder a lot of players are apparently thinking twice about joining us, or in the case of some of the above, want to leave or already have done so.

On the other hand, Cabaye established himself as a first-choice starter, Debuchy was a regular, Jonas got a World Cup call-up while in the Championship, Janmaat still gets picked, Sissoko features, etc.

that maradona (!) wanted to pick him at left-back (!!) somewhat gives the lie to this one, like

Krul, Anita, Cabella, HBA and Mbiwa and were not starting regularly, at all.

They might not have been starting regularly but they all looked like they were going places and were all highly rated in their own countries. Krul has not developed at all as a keeper, he's worse now than he was two or three years ago and his international career is suffering. Anita had 3 caps before he joined us none since. MYM was capped before he joined us and after he left, not during, no surprise there. HBA already had 8 caps before he joined us. Santon had 6 now he's probably off to Watford. Cabella now doesn't make the squad.

What's happened to the above and to a lesser extent Cisse and Tiote who are no longer automatic starters for their countries is not necessarily the fault of the players but it's certainly the fault of idiots like Pardew and Carver. Cabaye and Debuchy certainly used us as a stepping stone and it worked for both of them, but more recently as things got worse at the club this is no longer happening.

So if we are no longer a stepping stone to a big club, don't pay high wages compared with many of our immediate rivals, don't appear to have any ambition above making money, why would good players come to us? It appears many don't. I hope I'm wrong as the current squad we have will get us relegated next season.
