Shawcross perfectly fits the bill of everything MYM need in a partner to do well in this league. Not a big fan of Shawcross overall, but you do have a point and Shawcross - MYM would be huge improvement on what we've been served for most parts this season. Stoke are very much on par with us, except they are ambitious and have a much better manager. Despite the Ashley/Pardew propaganda aimed at downsizing our expectations, Newcastle is still considered one of the premier English clubs. 50,000 in the stands and the passion which the city has always had for the club means that we are still a draw, even though we do our best to discourage quality players from coming here.
