The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Vitor Pereira to Wolves

Not a cat in hell's chance a genuine top manager will want to work with that gutless rabble of a squad. They've been on the decline since Poch left and Kane's (and Son's) constant supply goals have kept the stench in for the last 18 months but even that isn't enough to disguise the smell any longer. That club is fucking rotten, it needs completely gutting from top to bottom. Take Kane's goals away and they're bang average, mid-table fodder with a lush stadium.

I may be being harsh there but that's my view on them from the outside.

As much as that's true, working with Levy must be as much of a turn off. It's like the "who would want to come work under Ashley" years. Until he goes or steps back so he isn't undermining the manager/coaches spuds will always be a hand tied behind the back.

Potter to Palace feels like a brilliant move for all parties tbh. I don't think there's any doubting the job he did at Swansea and Brighton and he was clearly on an upward trajectory before his idiotic decision to abandon a good thing for a very bad one. Going to Palace means everyone landing on their feet.

Palace and Brighton hate each other. Is he still admired by Brighton fans, and if so does he respect that enough?

If this was Steve Bruce, the only thing holding him up would be how long the laws of physics determine it takes for ink to combine with the paper.

Not that much difference to Poch going to Chelsea after managing Spurs?

I don’t see Potter’s decision to join Chelsea as idiotic. He was earning ~£1.75m a year at Brighton and then earned ~£15m in six months.

His reputation is pretty much intact, he’s set for life financially and that was the worst-case scenario. There was also huge upside in the unlikely event that he did make it work.

Palace will be good for him as the expectations will be tempered and he'll have less pressure to do his thing. He was very good at Brighton in the same regard to Eddie with improving players they unearthed from various leagues. He won't have the front office support he did at Brighton, but there's enough talent to draw from that he could develop and improve the squad to be challenging for a spot in the top 10 and not worry about relegation whatsoever. Probably the best place for him to rebuild his image, but I don't think he really damaged it that much considering Lampard did even worse when he took over.

Palace

I remember when people were saying he'd have nothing to lose with his idiotic move to Chelsea and his stock would be just as high.

...Palace

Great if you're only arsed about the money, but in career terms he's gone backwards if he really is going to Palace

Think that's a solid move for Potter.

Palace spend fairly decent money on good players, and also have a pretty good pipeline for young players in their area.

Getting to work with Eze, Olise, Edouard, Doucoure, Guehi, Anderson, Mitchell and Zaha is well worthwhile for him.

Could see him doing well with that bunch for sure.

Looking like it could be Ange Postecoglu for Spurs.

Good news. Winning the SPL with an old firm team is meaningless.

He’s done a great job with Celtic playing some brilliant football. Really faltered in Europe tho. Might struggle to make an impact with spurs

Ange will turn it around with Spurs unfortunately. Winning the J-League and the Asian Cup is no easy task. He’s a proven winner that plays with style.

He’ll do a decent enough job but nothing  spectacular

Don’t think doing anything in the J league translates to him doing well at spurs tbh
