He just gives me the vibe of someone that'll give most clubs a few solid years before he gets stale and moves on to the next task. Lampard will be as mediocre as usual. I think its the turtle neck. Sibierski
I feel Lampard is better with younger players, which was shown at Derby and first Chelsea stint. Which means he has a ceiling, and/or it needs to be a specific club that has an ethos focussed on youth. Not sure what Coventry have in that department, but feel he’ll do a reasonable job there. JEToon
I don’t think Van Nistelrooy will be much of a hit at all personally like, He wasn’t great at PSV pretty average season up against a shite Ajax and knocked out of a CL Qualifier by a rancid Rangers team, not much in his work so far, seems pretty under qualified for it to me

Did well at Derby, then ended up out of his depth at two of the most dysfunctional clubs in the Premier League. I think he's a much better manager than the likes of Gerrard and Rooney. Lampard actively, at least, appears to be wanting to become a manager and appears to be keeping up to date with tactics and visiting other clubs to learn from other managers. I put "appears" in italics because for all I know he could be like the pair you mentioned, Gerrard and Rooney, who doesn't even appear to be doing anything other than relying on getting gigs because they used to play footy themselves once upon a time - not caring that playing and managing are two completely different things

Ability wise you're probably not underestimating yourself at all....being 'in' with the PFM crowd and those stupid enough to listen to them probably not so much

CM’s CB’s on the other hand learn the game a lot more.

Don't think a former Man U legend is necessarily the right fit for a low profile PL club though. Yeah, always had a soft spot for him after the entire Arsenal team were allowed to fight him with complete impunity after that penalty.

Seems the best examples of strikers-turned-manager are from a previous generation. SAF, Jupp Heynckes, Brian Clough, Cruyff (if you consider him a striker), Dalglish. clintdempsey Posted Monday at 10:43 Share Posted Monday at 10:43 Is the glass ceiling to blame for Man City’s struggles as well? Or are they just having 5 seasons worth of bad performances rolled up into a few months?
