Think that’s a poor career decision from Nuno. I get that he wants to be back in the PL as soon as possible but West Ham are a graveyard club and they have a graveyard squad

I don’t know enough about the details of their squad, but it does feel like that.

Just had a look at West Hams squad. Absolute pile. Be interesting to see how Nuno sets up, he'll try build around Killman you'd expect, but the rest of that back 4 is duuuud.

Nah, that LB Diouf is terrific. Happily take him off their hands in Jan. They can have Bissouma. Might not be the worst buy for them either.

They've got a decent spine in there with Killman, Diouf, Poquetta, Ward-Prowse and Bowen, the rest is pretty horrific though but a decent manager could get a tune out of them.

Ah really, not seen him much tbf. Looked all at sea defending against Palace the bits I saw though.

Makes sense, thought he was excellent against us. My guess is that their ropey midfield causes a lot of those problems for the defence.

I think they’ve highlighted Ward-Prowse as a problem themselves.

I admit to not having watched them much this season other than their opener against Sunderland, just had a look back now and he's consistently one of their worst rated players, what happened?

Potter will have to drop a league i reckon, take on a championship team, get them promoted and stabilise them in the prem.  Before any of the established clubs take a look at him again, if they ever do!

Not sure why anyone would give him a job at a decent level right now tbh. If ever there was a case that player recruitment is more important than the manager, then Potter is the living proof. His whole reputation was built on Tony Bloom's buying model at Brighton. Given his own resources he's turned out to be clueless.

To be fair to Potter, he took Östersunds FK from the 4th tier to the top flight winning a cup.

The old wisdom about WP was that he was generally mediocre but good at free-kicks. Sounds like it was the case.

I think people think he was an attacking midfielder, he’s not, he’s more of a holding/defending midfielder, who happened to be good at freekicks.

It’s one of those lazy stereotypes that is spouted by people who only watch the big 6 and highlights who think they know the ins and outs of the game.

Bet they finish below West Ham.

Happy to see Potter be a disaster at West Ham. Suspect that'll be the last we see of him at this level unless it's via a promotion.

Wonder if you’ll be thinking that when the media go all in on Howe in the summer for England with no PL ready alternative to split the vote and attention.

For the record they should just media train Carsley and stick with the St George master plan.

But the problem West Ham have is that they’re using him as a holding/defending midfielder, along with Soucek as a sort of double-pivot, and it’s been awful.
