I've just happened across the Scottish Premier League table.

Must say that I thought, as a vegan Buddhist, Russel Martin would struggle to win over the Rangers fans and it would end in tears, but I didn't expect him to have such an appalling start.

He got right up on wick last season with Southampton up here, possession cup fetishist. You'd think that'd be the last thing Rangers or Celtic would want seeing as its a given they'll dominated possession anyway.

Looked at the league table the other day myself, five teams in a twelve team league without a win after five games seemed pretty unique.

Emery under any pressure do we reckon?

One of their chances of silverware already gone last night

I'd hope not, Emery is one of the best managers around, and looking at the table they're outliers at the bottom statistically when you look at goals against. I think they've just struggled to click from an attacking point of view which is hardly major cause for concern enough to be changing a top class manager who has achieved so much with them.

He's done a brilliant job tbf. Not sure who'd have done any better.

Losing your first 4 games of the season seems a wild time to reward someone with a pay rise

Had a look on that Villa forum and some of them want Unai gone, that's just mental to me. He's not won a trophy like Eddie but in terms of the job he's done at Villa since he came in it's very similar . Still expect them to challenge the top 6-8 this season with him in charge . He's just been done with PSR compared to the bigger clubs like we have .

These lines were casually thrown in at the end of a BBC Football article about Mouriniho potentially taking over at Benfica:-

The move to part company with Lage coincides with Benfica preparing for their presidential election on 25 October.

Joao Noronha Lopes, favourite to win the election, has his sights set on Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim and was at Etihad Stadium on Sunday to watch Portuguese.

Costa said the decision to make a managerial change is not motivated by his attempt to get re-elected.

Is it possible that Amorim is engineering a payoff at Man Utd with a eye on a return to the easy life in Portugal?

Would a manager who brought success to arch rivals Sporting be warmly welcomed by Benfica fans ?

I don’t know enough about whether that sort of move has happened before and I can’t be arsed to look it up and go down that rabbit hole either

Did Robson not do similar at Sporting/Porto?

I wonder how long Ange lasts at Forest, it's obviously early days, but losing against Swansea and drawing against Burnley as well as being hammered by Arsenal isn't exactly an ideal start

Uninspiring appointment to begin with imo.

Whats the fan reaction? I'd imagine there are a portion pissed about losing Nuno to begin with. Ange isn't a step up imo.
