Did Sir John Hall make a racist joke about Les Ferdinand ages ago?

Recommended Posts

I think it is ridiculous to label people "dogooders" because they aren't the race that is being offended.

Out of interest who are the dogooders in this thread?

The ones who scream racism at the very mention of colour, such as alex and santoon above, probably others elsewhere but I didn't take notes.

Someone earlier made an excellent analogy with height and a window I don't remember it but it was spot on

Do you know anything of their backgrounds?

Also if we signed a black player and someone's first comment was "f*** me, he's black as the ace of spades!" would you honestly not think they were a bit racist? Or does it not apply to kitchen appliances?

My opinion wouldn't change if I knew they where white, black, yellow or green. I don't see what you're getting at

Surely if it is a black person getting offended about a joke about black people they aren't getting offended on someone else's behalf?  :undecided:

That's the first sensible thing you've said all day.

Fuck off!! I've just trawled through 9 pages of this bollocks to make that joke! Fair play though, had to be done.

"I couldn't see Les Ferdinand because he was stood next to my black Aga," Sir John said, as a stunned silence from Keys and Gray followed.

You know it's bad when those two gibbons are stunned into silence!

Rumoured to be riddled with dementia now.

He has a house near me and I see him out and about every now and again. He stops to have a chat with people and he seems fine enough mentally. He might have good days and bad but he's well enough to be walking his dog by himself.

Is he still up at Lesbury?

It's funny because I always thought he was a fairly old man back in the early 90s but it turns out looking back he was just in his mid/late 50s. Would have had him at 70 easily then.

Jesus. Going back to the first post, I remember it. Hand on heart, I had it on in the car live. I couldn’t believe what he said. His half arsed apology after and all when he sort of made it worse.

I’m sure he said the line. Then there was an awkward silence and he said BLACK AGA, again

Mental.

Here's one John Hall should have said:

Royal Family, Christmas day..

"Former Newcastle United owner Sir John Hall said he had switched from backing the Conservatives to become a Reform UK donor because he felt his English way of life was “under threat”. Nigel Farage announced at a rally near Sunderland how the businessman who was behind the success of the MetroCentre had switched his allegiance to Reform UK. Sir John raised his fists from the balcony as the audience cheered, shouting “come on”.  . . . “English is my way of life, which I feel is under threat,” the 91-year-old told reporters.

“The Reform party are the only ones I feel who are going to speak about saving my English culture.”

Sir John, who grew up in a Northumberland mining family and made his fortune developing Europe’s largest shopping centre on Tyneside, said he was not against immigration. “But I am against people who are coming, not really to be part of our society, but to bring over their own ways and try and install them, the way they want to live.” He added: “We have sleepwalked into this battle for hearts and minds and souls of everybody here. Nigel Farage is the only one who speaks for what I feel should be my English way of life.”

In a statement released by Reform, Sir John added: “I supported both personally and financially the Conservative Party in the North East for decades but now I see the only party, and the only politician, to have the interests of Great Britain at its heart is Reform UK and Nigel Farage.”

Fuck me this thread makes for some depressing reading - plenty not exactly covering themselves with glory.  Wonder if many will still say that John ‘proud to be white’ Hall isn’t a racist old cunt?

Met him a few times in the early 90’s when I was mid-teens, seemed like a top guy. Few years later, met him a few times again and realised he was a massive cunt
