I suppose it’s too early for Man U fans to give up hope, but objective observers can see they’re absolutely humming, and it’s a long term hum.
Not comparable to us, we’ve played well and just need to convert performances to points, or Villa who are a good team with a good manager having a rough patch.

Managers can be gifted in all sorts of areas of the game, but it is absolutely essential that the guy instils his players with confidence in the way they are being asked to play. If the manager is moaning about his resources and looking overwhelmed, that's not going to happen.

Eddie inherited a far worse situation than Amorim but right from the start he was instilling real belief in the players.

I'm not just being wise after the event, but the moment I heard Emery saying that Villa would not be finishing in the top seven, I thought, you've had it. If you can't inspire yourself, there's no way you can inspire your team.

You've got 1 point more than us and 3 of the teams you've played have collectively scored 4 and conceded 19.

You would be laughing at us if we had the start you've had as well.

Hated, adored, never ignored and all that.

You taking that bet and putting your money where your mouth is or are you all hot air?

Routinely spanked, never just blanked.

Consistently rotten, never forgotten.

Spend all the money, never not funny.

Am I doing this right?

You’ve got a coach with a track record of failure in the premier league. We’ve got a coach with a track record of success.

Is just so easy to play against Amorim given you know exactly how he'll approach the game. Even Grimsby worked it out.

Other teams can just tweak their tactics to exploit how Man Utd play safe in the knowledge Amorim won't do anything to counter that.

I've just watched the post-match analysis on Sky. It was really interesting.

My feeling is that when you play three at the back, the defenders need to take more responsibility and have the confidence to make decisions using their own initiative. A four is a bit less flexible but the roles are more clear.

What I think may be happening is that Amorim is demanding more from his players in terms of their capacity for decision-making and taking initiative, but not giving them the confidence to do that. By the same token, they also need to communicate better, but none of them look confident enough to lead. They look scared of making a mistake.

They looked very good at times, but the minute they were put under pressure, it unravelled.

Onana looking great after leaving too… Man U the problem here?

I thought it’s pretty obvious at this point, the club culture is rotten to the root, with bunch of entitle fans , they would be in championship without the help of PSR & ref

Where was this loyalty and sympathy for moyes when he started off poorly? Never stood a chance.

They’re very loyal to managers. There was obviously an adjustment period straight after Sir Alex but I think he rubbed them up the wrong way, similar to Bruce did here (to compound the atrocious football).
