Guest firetotheworks
I do think it's a bit weird for a player to leave their home town club as the country's player of the generation, win everything elsewhere, then go back when they've lost most of what was good about them. If I was an Everton fan I'd feel canny undermined and wouldn't want him tbh, half because of that and half because his quality has fallen off a cliff. triggs
Tbf being the main man could revitalise him again. Hope he does well tbh, quite like Rooney
Odear
They're going to pay him 250,000 a week....... Everton paying 250,000 a week. FFS. Maybe Mike Ashley is right. Keep our powder dry, spend as little as possible and watch all these teams implode within 2 seasons.
ElDiablo
Would he even get in their side? They seem to have better options everywhere he could play.
Stuy_O
West Ham are a bit more attractive than NUFC. If we sign someone like Ashley Barnes in this window then you really have no right to complain after hideous posts like this.
Kanj
Everton spraying cash out of every fucking hole this summer, christ.

I mean, I get that they might spend a lot on fees if they sell Lukaku, but there is no way on Earth they can afford wages like that.

Man U will probably let him leave on a free if Everton match his current wage. Only way I could see it being true.

Several of the media state they're signing Giroud very soon too who'll be on big coin as well!
Ketsbaia
Rooney Never rated him when he was 'good', especially not now. And certainly not on those wages.

Guest firetotheworks
For England definitely, 2004 aside. He's been outstanding for at least three quarters of his club career though.
AyeDubbleYoo
He'd be a good player for a top 6 team with slightly lower expectations. Actually hope he does go to Everton, it'll be very interesting. Everything depends on what they do with Lukaku though really.
Village Idiot
Borja Bastón to Málaga for €5m. That's a steal for a young goalscorer with a proven record in La Liga. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
joeyt
Everton have bid £39million for Raul Jimenez apparently which you'd assume was a Lukaku replacement
Mole_Toonfan
Rooney still has plenty to offer. He's not the same player anymore but that doesn't mean he can't be extremely useful in a side outside of top 4. If he performs like he has for Man Yoo in recent years I don't see him being useful tbh. He's been straight up crap.
astraguy
Rooney will be amazing for Everton he has all the class Shearer had before he retired
The College Dropout
He'd be a good player for a top 6 team with slightly lower expectations. Last season 5 goals, 5 assists. Season before 8 goals, 6 assists The season before he scored 12 times. Very risky business for 46m over 3 years if that's the deal.
Mole_Toonfan
Rooney will be amazing for Everton he has all the class Shearer had before he retired I don't remember Shearer scoring above 12 league goals in a season once in 5 seasons.

His record looks awful considering the price tag. I don't think we should go near Rooney with a bargepole either. Looks like a foregone conclusion though sadly. You should have went all out for Sigurdson, and whats happening with Barkley? Latest rumours are that Barkley is staying. He was back in training yesterday. I hope he does stay personally, he was excellent at times last season and gets far too much stick. Sigurdsson's work rate and set pieces are better than Barkley's but Ross is a much better footballer and younger. I'm not sure set pieces are worth spending £40m on. Sigurdsson gets a few more goals a season too, but we've already signed Klaasen for that job.
