This is so f***ing funny. Back when Rafa left and Bruce came in, we had shivers down our spine that Captain Jack could become a reality in our team. Now on opening day of the season, he has been left out of our squad and can only run away to a League 1 or 2 club or does a full Brexit and pissess out of the country.

Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback has been left out of the club's final 25-man Premier League squad.

The midfielder is now mulling over his options with both the European window open and potential loan deals to League One clubs still an option for the ex-Sunderland man.

It was a decision that Steve Bruce made with a heavy heart after being impressed with the midfielder's effort levels in pre-season and working with the Killingworth lad before during his time on Wearside.

Nottingham Forest were believed to be interested in Colback on deadline day but the former Premier League club did not want to pay the money to get him out of the remainder of his contract.

But ahead of the final announcement, Bruce said: "Unfortunately he’s one of those who hasn’t got a squad number."

Morocco midfielder Achraf Lazaar has also been left out and is now looking for clubs in Italy.

Quick pass the hankies  :p
