taxfree
I'd like Moyes, but my preference for a while have been for a foreign manager to come in. Anyway, came across this garbage from a journalist (Rob Stewart): @mattholland8 Agreed. Hope Ashley sticks with him + Pardew sticks at it to prove doubters wrong cos there's a fine coach + manager in there
Chicane
Yeah that Rob Stewart guy wrote an article on FourFourTwo yesterday saying we shouldn't sack him. His defense was basically that Pardew has no say over the players coming in to the club and that this isn't "his team". Pretty much blames Ashley and Graham Carr for our predicament. Guest TruToon94
We need to bombard Pro-Pardew pieces with this link off the SackPardew: http://sackpardew.com/myths/his-hands-are-tied-by-ashley/ Proves that it is complete rubbish.

Such a bizarre argument. By that logic he can literally never be held accountable for results. If he's unable to work to a reasonable standard under a system that isn't going away, that's more reason to get rid rather than keep. People in England really struggle with the idea of a Director of Football system despite it being the norm, even at some English clubs. Personally I prefer the manager to have a lot more say but not if he's Alan Pardew.
Dokko
Pardew's first and last real move in the transfer market was to sell Wayne Routledge and replace him with Obertan.

Guest TruToon94
It's a bloody good thing he doesn't control transfers too! Sorry I'd much rather have Graham, "I brought Cabaye, Ben Arfa and all those players Pardew relied on to win matches" to the club rather than Alan, "Mullins is superb and Ameobi is as good as Tevez" Pardew. Journalists completely useless.

Journalists completely useless. Exactly - it works both ways. Not a chance that Pardew would have brought Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse et al to the club if he had complete control over transfers. It's like, ok, when does it become acceptable to start criticizing him then? How many more bad results, how much worse does it have to get before we can say maybe he just isn't good enough? As you say, it absolves him of any blame and essentially gives him the best job in the world because he can never be held accountable.
olliemort
I would be over the moon with moyes but I doubt he would come here under Ashley. All the people who say otherwise come back on here and see if you change your mind after Ashley hires some twat like lawrie Sanchez

BlueStar
Worth restating when we're accused of being hysterical or kneejerk Of the last 28 PL managers to lose their jobs all had a better recent record than Alan Pardew.

Yorkie
Moyes is way above the standards I'd expect. I can't understand why he would want to take the job but I'd be very happy with his appointment, if it turned out that way. There's roles that Pardew fills that I can't imagine Moyes doing so; being the sole mouthpiece for the club's agenda, etc, but on the pitch we would be a functioning, coherent unit. Way beyond what we are now.
mrmojorisin75
Suppose the hope is of Ashley really likes the idea of Moyes and respects him going into things he'll relax his interference and bullshit, and that Moyes would insist on such. There have been stories of Ashley being a fan of Moyes tbf
Ketsbaia
Replacing a 2/10 manager with a 6/10 is a huge improvement, although I'm sure we could attract some 7s or 8s.
Ronaldo
It's pretty stupid calling Moyes a '6' and pretty daft thinking we can attract an '8' when we've only had 2 of those in the last 40 years of our history - and that was when we had ambitious ownership. Varadi
If Moyes is willing to come and work for this club in it's current state under this dickhead owner I would be amazed, and would obviously welcome him with open arms.
