Whats the black on the back under the puma triangle?

If that was the only picture released you would think it was a nice strip, maybe even with a striped back

It's that Nufc thing on the back

Cause ya'nah it just makes sense to have one

Oh wow ... they actually got rid of the sticky tape badge?! Thank God for that. I detested that thing.

I kind of like the kit. Sorry guys. I feel a bit embarrassed.

I think he means this:

Yep, not saying I think there is something on the back, just looks like the official site trying to make it appear better (along with cropping out the chevron shit)

Call me crazy but I think it's pretty smart. I'm not overly keen on the back but it could be worse. As for the wonga logo being the old one, who really cares? Shit is shit no matter what shape it is plastered onto a shirt.

If anyone forks out £52 for that they're,  an absolute cunt tbh

Exactly. You could knock far better than those out for a fraction of that price.

"Twice as nice for half the price"

Another piece of over-designed shite from Puma.  I couldn't be bothered to get worked up and rage over it, since I never intend to buy another shirt during the Ashley-Wonga era.  Fuck it, they've killed all my enthusiasm for this club.    http://i.imgur.com/7dN9Z.gif

Have I made this up but was it not made a thing that clubs cannot have striped backs? The shirts need to be one colour on the back to assist with reading player numbers/names?

The back would be slightly better if the bottom part was black rather than blue.

I sort of like the front, I guess all of the blue is to make the hideous Wonga logo blend a bit.

Absolutely terrible that we're now advertising a company with their old logo though.

Nope, it's not a thing. Southampton don't, sunderland don't. West Brom have never had it whilst they've had their thick normal stripes. We're the only ones who seem to insist on it for some reason.

What about the premier league numbers/letters? Are they only allowed to be black now? When West Brom had their stripes, they used red letters/numbers.  Obviously black would be impossible on any newcastle kit, red would probably look ridiculous too

These images show that the variations in colours dont make it difficult or any more difficult to read.

Aye, its pretty much just us... fat Mick probably thinks its a way to force fans to get names and/or numbers on instead of having a plain back to the shirt.

I don't even think its a puma/manufacturer thing, as we had the same sort of blank back panel in the last few years with Adidas too.

We used to have red numbers before the PL, it was fine.

Aye...

Note there is a white panel behind those, though only big enough for the numbers.
