STM
Who are nufc.com? And where do they get their information? I always thought it was just a couple of blokes putting their spin on things?
Tooj
They used to have decent contacts back in Shepherd's day but don't think they've really had anything of an insider track for a long time now.
Ikon
As if thumb head is going to interview Vieira It will be Vieira interviewing Charnley if he's seriously considering taking the job!

relámpago blanco
Does charnley have any football background before NUFC?? He used to sell balti pies at Whitley Bay home games iirc.

ikri
We've been utterly shite for the last few seasons, flirting with relegation for the last 3. Even if he's utter wank as a head coach the club wouldn't be that much worse off. Mediocre would be a massive improvement. If he actually turns out to be any good then we all win. Worth the gamble imo
Dr Venkman
It comes under the whole Vieira and Tiote banner, he WOULD get him back to his best IMO. Weird banner.
Blueview
As people have mentioned here, no one.. not the clubs or Vieira himself are denying anything. It ought to mean something surely?
Dave
As people have mentioned here, no one.. not the clubs or Vieira himself are denying anything. It ought to mean something surely? We're normally all over denying potentially good news stories, so it's obviously true. Doesn't mean much though, I fully expect him to run a mile when he finds out the terms on offer. AyeDubbleYoo
Aye, we're definitely going to talk to him, the problem is what we're going to say.

Blueview
Aye, we're definitely going to talk to him, the problem is what we're going to say. You don´t think that Vieira have been in contact with a number of French players at NUFC to get their view?.. I´m sure he have

toon25
What terms do we think he will struggle most to accept though? Not being the manager, I reckon.

AyeDubbleYoo
What terms do we think he will struggle most to accept though? Low-ish salary he might be OK with, maybe also not having 100% control of transfers (he might not even want that). I reckon the coaching situation will be the blocker, when he's forced to take Carver and Stone instead of his own staff.
biggs
As people have mentioned here, no one.. not the clubs or Vieira himself are denying anything. It ought to mean something surely? We're normally all over denying potentially good news stories, so it's obviously true. Doesn't mean much though, I fully expect him to run a mile when he finds out the terms on offer. Any manager with a sense of self respect would walk out of the office sharpish if he was told terms by thumbhead and what sort of say does Wenger and Pelligrini have on transfers are they told "this is what you get best of luck" .We all know we are light years away from those teams but it is still the same as who selects the players for the manager him with the help of a scout no say at all ? Noodles
What terms do we think he will struggle most to accept though? Keeping the three amigo's on as his coaches, having only a partial say in transfers, No guarantee of funds for new players unless the club nearly gets frigging relegated.............there's three just off the top of my head that would put must decent managers/coaches off. AyeDubbleYoo
The inability to bring your own staff is a killer, basically means you're working on your own in a new job. Especially for a young manager.
relámpago blanco
I dont think a manager really needs to be heavily involved in the scouting process. As long as you have a good chief scout or DOF. The manager needs to be able to make recommendations and also request players of a certain type and sign off on any deals
