loki679
It's really surprising that up and coming coaches don't want to join a club that has publicly admitted it has no ambition.
NUFC_Chris
Tbh we're probably being too cynical. I'm sure there's loads of coaches who'd jump at the chance, so long as we get the right guy.
thenige
On Football Manager it's always really easy to get amazing staff who are unattached, so balls to paying compensation for anyone.
Dave
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/585824/Newcastle-Transfer-News-Joel-Matip-Defender-Schalke-7million McClaren is likely to lose goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman who is set to rejoin former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace. That will mean McClaren bringing in former Toon keeper Eric Steele who was with him at Derby County.

toontownman
Eric Steele has long been rated as one of the best Goalkeeping coaches around. I really hope this comes to fruition. Plus he has won silverware with us.. its a good omen.. there might be an equivalent Anglo-Italian Cup out there for the taking. Seem like we are Round's fall back if no head coach positions pop up, I expect McClaren would make a play for a bit of extra money to get him too. He is a class coach. Wallace
Steve Round has worked at NUFC before and under Ashley so it is not a surprise that he would prefer to look elsewhere.
Deuce
I wonder if we'd care at all about the new backroom staff had our last crew not been as spectacularly poor as they were.

Ikon
His former Derby No. 2 Paul Simpson is expected to arrive this week while Ian Cathro, a highly-rated 28-year-old Scot who has been coaching at La Liga giants Valencia, is also in the frame to link up with McClaren. Anyone heard of Cathro?
Disco
Was in the frame for the Rangers job, couple of journos I follow were surprised he left Valencia unless he had a manager gig lined up. Would be a genuinely interesting and forward thinking appointment so for those reasons...
