Big Geordie
Pretty pish game. The dive from Sterling in an attempt to win a pen, was laughable.

KaKa
Nigeria were embarrassing in the first half. They looked disorganised and half-asleep. The second was an improvement, and if it means that Onazi never sees the pitch in Russia, I am pleased with the result. England is interesting because Kane and Sterling will trouble every team they play (one of the most dangerous attacking duos at the tournament, imo), but the depth in the squad is very average for a team that should have aspirations to win the World Cup. I watched the game live. Man I had a good time in the Nigeria section. So much fun. We played 4-3-3 and struggled badly with England's 3-4-3 in the first half. We then switched to a 3-4-3 in the second half to match up better, and we were far more comfortable and improved a lot. Thought we looked far more threatening then. Great day out. Bumped into Kelechi from Arsenal fan tv. Dude was getting mobbed. Was quite funny
Wullie
https://twitter.com/itvfootball/status/1002996885399875584 The end of this interview is so weird.
NEEJ
https://twitter.com/itvfootball/status/1002996885399875584 The end of this interview is so weird. That's almost sinister. What a creep.
Cronky
I liked the formation, which seemed very flexible. The players at least looked like they knew what they were supposed to be doing, even if not everything came off. It did also show that we don't need two defensive midfielders in the centre. We can go with Dier or Henderson, not necessarily both. And I didn't think we were that bad in the second half. Nigeria improved, but we were still creating chances. Wullie
ITV have deleted the tweet of that Sterling interview and put it back up without Gabriel Clarke being weird at the end.

Wullie
What did he say? He is a complete freak to be fair. It was this interview but at the end after Sterling talks about seeing games out, Clarke says "Game management?" Sterling: Game management, yeah. Clarke: END PRODUCT?!? Sterling (clearly slightly confused and going along with it): Er end product yeah. Clarke: As Ronaldinho would say? Sterling: ...yeah.
Mole_Toonfan
What? I'm utterly baffled just reading that, can't possibly understand how Sterling felt.
Sima
Clearly Clarke has heard ‘Game Management’ somewhere and has decided to make his own definition up. He won’t be the only one I imagine.

Guest firetotheworks
If weirdos like Gabriel Clarke didn't exist, Chris Morris probably wouldn't have gotten away with his The Day Today and BrassEye interviews imo. That said he really is fucking weird like. Remember when he used to sign off interviews by saying "England expects"? / Him, Tyldesley, and Drury all at the same time, man. Ugh, imagine them bigging each other up.
Kimbo
I recall Gabriel Clarke interviewing Junior Witter(who wasn't fighting that night) backstage during a night of boxing, he asked Junior to take off his shirt to show us what shape he's in. Not that unheard of in boxing but he did it with his usual weirdness.
The College Dropout
Football had so many phrases like that, that nobody ever fully defines. It just becomes a part of the vocabulary and used in the same contexts. Game management is something that has become popular to say in the game but I’m not certain what it actually means. It’s used in the context of teams in the lead seeing games out. But I take it for how well teams manage the ebbs and flows of a football game.
