Be fun watching Southgate managing Norwich in a couple of years.

Be hillarious if he takes a high profile one and fails miserably. Not that any top 10 club would seriously appoint him mind

Palmer gets called up after scoring a few penalties and Gordon gets completely ignored. Makes sense though when you realise Gordon plays a high intensity, pressing style whereas Southgate wants to bore everyone to tears with possession for the sake of it football, and completely waste every bit of talent this generation of players have.

Palmer has been really good this season so a bad comparison. I personally would pick Sterling over Gordon now also. He’s probably next in line after that but maybe Bowen also ahead

It's no surprise. He's never gonna change now. They'll get to the semis or finals of the euros again next summer and he will go down as englands 2nd most successful manager behind Ramsey

He already is tbf even if we go out of the group P3, L3.

Aye semi final and a euros final surpasses anything anyone other than ramsay has achieved

Fair enough some of his squads aren't  what people want but he's loyal to who's done well for him and his record can't be argued with

I mean if you're gonna take Trippier and Wilson from us just take Livramento and Gordon instead surely? The former two are running on fumes plain as day. Give the young un's a run out.

I still maintain from a footballing perspective Southgate has achieved the bare minimum acceptable level. Taken into account the wealth of talent available and the very favourable fixtures I don't think he's been impressive at all and we've generally failed the first time we've faced decent opposition.

Biggest W is Germany at Home in the Euros. The next best result would be Colombia or Denmark. It's weak.

In that time.. Italy, in a nadir generation, have beaten Spain, Belgium & England (a).

France have beaten England, Argentina, Croatia, Uruguay, Belgium

Even Belgium have beaten Portugal, Brazil and England twice in major tournaments in that time. And Martinez got a lot of stick for his performances.

Good to see Ezri Konsa get called up, he's changed beyond all recognition under Emery, has been immaculate for ages now.

Was always the junior partner next to Mings, but since that horrible injury has taken a lead role with Torres.

Incidentally, Pau Torres is a fucking Rolls Royce of a footballer. Lacks a bit of pace, needs Konsa to dig him out at times, and still needs to fully adapt defensively, but his range of passing is absolutely mind blowing, and not just mind blowing for a centre half, it's excellent, full stop. Carries the ball forwards loads, absolutely key to how we play.

Konsa does a lot to allow Torres to play.

Going back to Konsa (and Mings, for that matter), it's amazing how a top level coach gets the best out of players - these are players that under Gerrard looked dejected and finished. Konsa was flirting with being on of those, too.

Blood new players in this dead rubber qualifier? Nah, Maguire, Henderson & Kane.

poor kalvin Phillips can’t even get some minutes in with Hendo around

Ollie Watkins absolutely needs to find a long lost Scottish grandma or something. Sir Harry will never yield.

He’s locked in now, isn’t he?

He needs to find better play than he did in that last game. Expect to see him for a while tonight.
