Heron
More than anything else I love that Lascelles is passionate about playing for us. It seems to me that he is genuinely proud to play for this club and even prouder to be captaining it. He's probably booted off because seeing us slump to defeat into he second half the other day hurt him like it hurts us and he's probably told Shelvey not to be thick as fucking mince. Tiotes Witch Doctor
He's one of those players who truly appreciates to be in the situation he is.
duo
I think he works well with Lejeune so I think we'll be sold today.
joeyt
I think he works well with Lejeune so I think we'll be sold today. Are they both negotiating with Ashley?
Guest neesy111
Despite him playing well on Wednesday, he let Lennon have the free header for the goal.
Odear
Well this is his team for the last two years. This slip into absolute garbage has happened on his watch. Whether he was injured or not, he could have told his “home truths” weeks ago. I think this will define him as a captain. If he can get this group of players to colllect a few points before the cavalry gets here it will be some achievement. People talking about his ability are idiots. He’s a kid still pretty much with a heavy weight on those shoulders. He will become better with age so ease up on him. right Read my post again. As a captain I’m saying that he could have told his home truths a few weeks ago. As a player he’s not the finished article yet.. but plenty of years to improve. But as far as being a good captain goes.. he needs to step up the plate now.
Heron
TBH like I don't get the need to tell home truths unless players have specifically been stupid or haven't put the graft in. It's clear the lads are trying, they're just not good enough. What's he supposed to say to them like, "you're shit"? It is obviously an assumption but I'd hazard a guess he booted off with Shelvey for being a fucking idiot again, and rightly so. Other than that, in recent weeks I don't think he could have told many "home truths" that would have shown good leadership or proved worthwhile. He's got to keep them motivated and on side, not go around blaming people for not having enough talent...
sbnufc
Love this lad. Was coaching Lejeune through the game at points today. Proper had a go at Yedlin when he didnt push out for an offside in the 2nd half too. About time we had a player who really cares like he does. Figures 1-0 Football
We look ridiculously more solid with him in the side. An excellent professional and comes across as a really decent guy too One of our very likeable players.

Hanshithispantz
Only conceded due to a keeping howler and a Zidane volley too, as opposed to every single cross that came into the box.
mozy
It's pretty clear now he's our best defender and with it our most important player. Praying he stays fit in reality as without him we'll be down.
Bimpy474
A fecking linchpin this lad like.
Guest Howaythetoon
I actually think he's a very good defender now and is easily our best and most important player. Out of all of them its him and Merino who look a bit more than just Premier League quality.
healthyaddiction
He's also the only vocal organiser we have in our entire back line.
The College Dropout
It’s to the point if he has a big injury we are 100% down. Need the other lads to step up.

STM
It’s hard to think this time last season he was getting slaughtered on here It's astonishing how a player can rise to the challenge. Lascelles is far more suited than Clark and Lejeune too. In a structured/defensive set up, you need penalty box defenders like Lascelles. It's not some lost art, it's a necessity for teams in the bottom half.

Thrown in some post match emotion and this place becomes a horror show.
