However, anyone think Rafa might actually be keen IF (don't laugh) he thought he could spend the proceeds on whoever he wanted? In addition to any other transfer funds he was expecting. For his own long term future though, he will achieve nothing but local hero worship here at NUFC and will have to move at some point to better his career. I rate Cahill and Stones as our two best and then it’s down to anyone really as the lack of talent in that area is huge. Lascelles would be up there with the best of the rest mind, easily. Unless we get a silly offer (and £100m would be silly), I'd hang on because his value is likely to increase and we don't yet know how good he's going to become. The transfer fee (and only the transfer fee, nothing else) might be allocated to new players but that will as usual also have to include wages so we can at best get in a replacement that might or might not be as good, or we can get in 2 or 3 mediocre players to try and strengthen the whole squad who are unlikely to be good enough anyway.
