Darlow is nowhere good enough to be our No.2. Woodman would have been an acceptable No.2, but he (completely understandably) wants to leave to become 1st choice somewhere else. We either sign another youngster with potential and take a risk or we sign an solid older keeper who is happy to take a big payday. The nuclear option is we sign a genuine top keeper and Dubs becomes No.2, but that seems very unlikely since our big outlays will probably be on a top striker and at least one decent winger. Only the very, very best youth players become consistent 1st XI PL players. The vast majority end up sliding down the divisions.
