Had catchphrase on earlier. Makem contestant was asked where he was from. Presenter Stephen Mulhern asked what Sunderland was like as he'd never been. Answer: Better than Newcastle.

"It's good, but it's not right"

 I wonder on what criteria Sunderland could be validly considered a better city to live in than Newcastle? Distance the beach/sea? That’s all I can come up with.

They really are a curiously misguided and delusional set of supporters.

One thing is the constant self congratulatory "our fans" thing. Like all clubs they have a few who follow them home and away through thick and thin but the reality is that 20 odd thousand "our fans" have deserted them as soon as the going got tough. Can't recall that happening so quickly anywhere else.

Then there's the current crop of takeover rumours. So many of them in misguided naivety seem to think that their appalling, possibly terminal, financial situation will just evaporate overnight when some MLF or other orchestrates a miraculous buy out.

They're a strange bunch.

Wednesday 19/10 to beat these sorry lot today.

from a betting point of view this game is very difficult to call, SW have zero to play for, aren't in great form.

the filth however will be buoyed by the gift Derby gave them so i think they will more up for it, so i'd sit on the fence here and predict a draw, it's pissing down, shit crowd and a must not lose for the filth , all the pressure is on them today as they have to win this

1-1

same applies to Barnsley playing away at Forest, nothing to play for so Barnsley will be right up for this as they now need to win
