We're down this year.

I've seen some s**** in my, albeit short compared to some, time

Saturday was up there with Andy Gray, Christian Bassila levels of s****.

Down. Gone. Caput. Done

Personally if I was a Sunderland supporter, after all the times they've certain go down, after all the times they've been dead and buried only to fucking somehow rise from the dirt to stay alive, there's no way I'd be resigning to relegation like that. You've been in worst situtations and survived. You're the leagues unflushable shit. You're the 17th place specialists. You always find a way to avoid death. Sadly, with sopuch a dreadful standard in the league this year, I think you'll be chesting death again this year.

rivalry aside- it will be for the best, like us, a stint in re-hab detoxing the club.

This. Sunderland are like us when we got relegated a few years ago, they have a couple of names in their squad who shouldn't be in a relegation battle but the rest of the squad is filled with dross with fuck all coming from the coaching staff. Sunderland have been crying out for relegation for so long, appoint a steady manager (no way Moyes will survive a relegation), and regroup.

Their situation is a lot different to ours, as was mentioned we had Rafa, if they go down Moyes will have been sacked before that's happened. Unless they pick up a awesome replacement who will be happy to manage them in the championship. It'll not be a given that they'll bounce straight up. They don't really have very many big money generating potential sales, they might get 5 mill here and there for some of their players, but they'll find it difficult to generate any additional funds beyond the parachute payments. They are also not in as secure a financial place as we were.  I am not being in anyway biased here at all but I honestly think our Championship squad has more quality and is deeper than their PL one. They absolutely can not afford to drop down, unless a new owner comes in and splashes the cash.

Having said all that, I'm not sure at all that they will drop, despite the woeful start, one win and a draw could see them out of the zone, the bottom of the PL is pretty abysmal this year, once again they've lucked out. Burnley, Hull and Boro, the 3 promoted teams must be the worst 3 that have gone up in a number of years, I expect them all to drop straight down again.

Are the mackems as thick as mince or what, this guy's trying to claim we are riding our luck right now have a paper thin squad and the "wheels apparently will fall off anytime soon", there has literally been zero research take place in this wonderful summation. Check out the lovely Everton fan on that thread too, we've got two of the best Evertonians that frequent on here, thank god we don't have that bitter little twat.

"I'll bite then. You have a bigger pool of players, but the line up tonight on the BBC you must have less than 150 Championship appearances combined in that starting 11. Looking at the bench I don't think any of them have kicked a ball in the Championship before this season. Compare that to Norwich who have several players of vast experience at the Championship level as well as a manager who has gained promotion before from that division. It is going well at the minute but the wheels will fall off"

Goodness me. So many things wrong with that post I don't know where to start  Is it customary on RTG to count the number of appearances of each player in a competition to gauge how well they'll do in that particular compo? If that's the case why are they constantly just avoided relegation year after year?

I agree with most of this.but a fully fit 11 v 11 and i do think they'd win, just, we have a championship squad and half a team that would do ok in PL , i fully expect if they can get out their first 11 they will be ok, but its getting that 11 out there, something we suffered from, put with Moyes looking shot to bits and it doesnt bode well thankfully.

However we have written them off before so i just wont yet.fuck them, im enjoying life where we are.
