Unbelievable
A Love Suppreme reporting: local consortium, lead by lifelong supporters. Successful businessmen business minded approach to off field running football experts will be involved including ex-player input funds available for young, hungry lads who want to play for the club & understand passion required - aim is to connect the fans, team, academy, staff and local businesses. - number of meetings with Board and Ellis representatives over a number of weeks - Big meeting in London with Short after Sheff Wed game - All due diligence done, solid bid put forward by group Short wants complicated deal involving league status, debt position and value of future players. local consortium ready to takeover now, no matter what league club is in next year. consortium want to save club and make the fans proud again
mrmojorisin75
so someone has got as far as due diligence but nowhere else on the planet has reported it? entirely possible i suppose given how irrelevant they are
Unbelievable
Sounds like complete chancers without any funding behind them, if true.
pinkeye
If anyone had done due diligence on that financial shambles and not run a mile screaming NOOOoooooo then they deserve everything they get!
Twinport53
TBH if they bought it and bulldozed it the majority of the NE would be ecstatic.
Scoreboard82
Had catchphrase on earlier. Makem contestant was asked where he was from. Presenter Stephen Mulhern asked what Sunderland was like as he'd never been. Answer: Better than Newcastle.
Chris_R
Sounds like complete chancers without any funding behind them, if true. You only need a quid. Tempted to rock up with a pound coin myself and ask if I can do due dilligence, see if I can get a peek at what their crowds *really* are.

Minhosa
I hope this rumour is true as the mob buying them, in a consortium, sound completely unable to compete with the wealthy Premiership owners so means years of anonymity. Get it done.

Altamullan
Had catchphrase on earlier. Makem contestant was asked where he was from. Presenter Stephen Mulhern asked what Sunderland was like as he'd never been. Answer: Better than Newcastle. "It's good, but it's not right" I wonder on what criteria Sunderland could be validly considered a better city to live in than Newcastle? Distance the beach/sea? That’s all I can come up with. Benwell Lad
They really are a curiously misguided and delusional set of supporters. One thing is the constant self congratulatory "our fans" thing. Like all clubs they have a few who follow them home and away through thick and thin but the reality is that 20 odd thousand "our fans" have deserted them as soon as the going got tough. Can't recall that happening so quickly anywhere else. Then there's the current crop of takeover rumours. So many of them in misguided naivety seem to think that their appalling, possibly terminal, financial situation will just evaporate overnight when some MLF or other orchestrates a miraculous buy out. They're a strange bunch.

Figures 1-0 Football
If they lose this, it’d be incredibly tough to turn it around. They’re in the situation where even draws are really poor results.
Guest covmag
Wednesday 19/10 to beat these sorry lot today. from a betting point of view this game is very difficult to call, SW have zero to play for, aren't in great form. the filth however will be buoyed by the gift Derby gave them so i think they will more up for it, so i'd sit on the fence here and predict a draw, it's pissing down, shit crowd and a must not lose for the filth , all the pressure is on them today as they have to win this 1-1 same applies to Barnsley playing away at Forest, nothing to play for so Barnsley will be right up for this as they now need to win
