It's just inexplicable. We have the best manager we could ever dream of having, willing to work under certain financial restrictions judging by his comments the other day, and he's still being messed around. It's not like Rafa has been unreasonable and is asking for £40m to spend on a single player, he wanted Tammy fucking Abraham on loan and we quibbled over a £1m payment and lost him to another club (who may well end up being a relegation rival). Rafa has delivered promotion whilst making a large transfer profit and he still isn't being backed. It's complete and utter madness.

The real financial bonanza of being promoted will come later this month, when the television money falls into bank account of all 20 Premier League clubs. Newcastle then will start feeling like a top flight club once more.

If they do not start acting like one, there is a very good chance they will lose their Champions-League winning manager.

This is a key bit from the Hardy article.

Has he been told to wait for this money to be deposited? Please tell me that this is what is being implied?! It's our only hope man.

That doesn't make any sense man. They've got access to the money or can make assurances to make signings now. They just seem determined not to pay the going rate.

Imagine how bad this season will be without him man :anguish:

It'll be one horrendous long struggle to survive, no doubt heralding the triumphant return of Pardew. This inaction is going to cost us big time, the stupidity of Ashley and Charnley knows no bounds.

Just wondered why Hardy would add that in there.

Not much use if other clubs are signing our targets while we wait for the money to drop into our accounts later this month. Sounds like complete BS to me.

When is this pot of money due?

If we are guaranteed cash from the prem league why didn;t we just borrow from an over draft facility and pay it back when the cash deposited into the account? securing the targets we wanted and leaving nothing to the last minute.

You think the people in charge would do such an effective thing to make signings? Pfft.

Because that would mean committing to spending money when the aim appears to be the opposite. If Rafa doesn't like it he can always fuck off. I'm assuming that would be the club's viewpoint.

This shit shouldn’t be constantly happening! Two windows in a row now!

These idiots should be doing everything they can to keep a manager like Rafa onside not the complete opposite - they’re complete and utter imbeciles and they’ll never learn!

Exactly, the fact we are talking about it is farcical.

Even if he doesn't walk in this window, we'll never make any significant progression as long as Ashley is here anyway, we'll always be the club that lags behind and could get dragged into a relegation battle, even with Rafa I'm struggling to find a reason to be interested in us anymore.

If Rafa doesn't walk soon he will walk within a year, the writing is on the wall IMO, even if he does beg the board for bargain basement signings all its going to do is damage his own reputation when we don't kick on.

Hes a great manager but not a miracle worker.

But hey the shirt sales and season ticket sales are the highest they've been in years, and Ashley knows if he replaces Benitez with Gary Megson the fans will still sit in silence and take it, there's no reason for him to be concerned.
