We managed alright last summer when Fat Mike was keeping his distance and Charnley and Rafa were running things. Not that I'm defending Ashley or his entourage, but how do you reckon one would "have a clue about football"? Is there a football university course for MD's and DoF's? If the reports are anything to go by, hasn't he done something similar this week with the instruction to Charnley to up our offer for Jacobs? Then we bring in some desperate bloke who will work with what we have plus a few cheap deals. He will think he can fluke a survival and be rolling in the money again. On top of that Rafa being popular means the fans hatred is squarely back with Ashley. I would say that the 5m (Jenas), 6.5m (?) for Dyer, and 8m (Viana) amounts we splashed out back in Robson's day, for youngsters with bags of potential is probably 10+ to 20m in today's market.
