Anyone actually reckon Ashley will back down and give Rafa the backing he needs in the summer?

Will he fuck.

This is all just a matter of time. Was always too good to be true, I guess.

I was actually hoping he would considering he gave Steve McClaren funds ffs, mainly due to TV money but still.

Starting to think it won't be the case now sadly.

Think if he left tomorrow attendances would drop to about 42-45k rather than full houses, but still not a significant enough drop to make a statement.

How would anyone justify still going man?! Can't get my head around it

For fucks sake, a chink of light for the first time in ages after 5 years of a manager who made me hate football. Then a retard i wouldn't leave in charge of a potato, then a nice fella out of his depth with at least a fun island on his head.

Now this, sometimes i wish i didn't love football so much. It's literally ruining my body and mind, i've done an ACL, just recovered from a broken arm/dislocated elbow i did playing the fucking game. I'm 46 and supported this heartbreaking club for longer and before anything else i can actually remember. And all it's really ever been is a rollercoaster than never goes up.

And then by luck usually only reserved for arseholes who don't deserve it the club find, somehow, a great manager and the fat pile of spunkshit is now ruining that, i give up.

Putting my pessimistic hat on, I doubt he sees Benitez as being vital to the operation. He probably thinks that anyone could get us promoted, especially given his alleged opinion of the division and how we should be blowing it away. If Benitez challenges him, he laughs in his face, tells him to get fucked - he'll do it his way because he always has.

Alternatively, maybe he's not the massive cunt he definitely is.

It'll be a miracle if he's still here in the summer. The fact he's having to communicate this through the media is genuinely f***ed up as it suggests not only was he stabbed in the back (i.e. the reason why he's furious) but he can't even speak to Ashley behind closed doors. Our manager has decided that his only option is to try to pressure the board via the press - and this is Mike f***ing Ashley, the guy who didn't give a s*** that he was breaking employment laws even when Parliament, Dispatches and the national media were shining a spotlight on him being a mammoth c***. He'll not give two s***s about Rafa going to the press on this.

I really wonder if that snake Pardew suddenly being available is part of this lunacy. Mike Ashley thought Kinnear did a great job first time he was there, iirc it was stated in the press that Ashley felt we'd have never have been relegated first time round had Kinnear still been in the dugout, and this despite the dinosaur being utter s***. It stands to reason he feels the same way about his casino mate Pardew, that NUFC wouldn't have gone down under the fraudster and that Pards gave him some healthy profits in player sales.

That Mirror article was obviously based on soundbites from Ashley and his crew. Absolutely disgusting stuff.

Thing is we can all see the merit in having Benitez next season once promotion is hopefully achieved, truth be told there are a lot of managers out there who could have probably had us in the same position this season, it wont be until next year we feel the benefit of Rafa and would have everything in place to kick on.

Ashley doesn't care about kicking on though, so it matters not to him whether Rafa stays or goes, he will bring in another Pardew appointment and it will be back to business as usual, bargain basement Carr signings, and lower mid table/relegation, this will never change apart from maybe the odd lucky Pardewesque season.

We will never be a force under Ashley or have any kind of consistency until this changes, and its pretty obvious at this point that it never will.

St James' park needs to be a cauldron of noise tomorrow in support of Rafa, it's up to the fans to show what's important to the club. The fat slug probably won't care but I think it's important. I hope, if Ashley does fuck this one up as he always does, then finally the penny will drop with our supporters. I refuse to support MAFC.

Interesting that Carr was sitting next to Ashley at that recent game.

I can't help but wonder if Carr has been bitching about the lack of usage of Mitrovic, who was very much a Carr signing, and the type Ashley is obsessed with. Those Gini and Sissoko sales for big money would have really got Mike excited and increased Carr's influence again, unfortunately.

f*** that, Ashley wont be here forever but I will, I certainly wont financially support him, but I'll never turn my back on the club.

Well, I could easily stop supporting them in the meantime and come back if/when he goes. I don't see how that could be criticised TBH.

Not me, I would rather go the rest of this season and shout abuse at Ashley or his cronies than just turn my back on the club, what next, you don't like the new left back so you pack your season ticket in.!!!

'Shout abuse at Ashley & Co'....? You are living in denial mate - they couldn't care less, will probably not even be there to hear it and you know all this...you are just trying to justify giving in to keep supporting a shoddily-run outfit that couldn't care less about its customers...

f***. Just seen his interview yesterday. It really is only a matter of time before he walks away. He feels understandably let down. Similar reason why Keegan left, lies and broken promises. f*** the owners of this club. This club will never be anything until Ashley is f***ing gone and he won't be until he chokes on his pie one day.

Appreciate having a good manager while it lasts lads, won't be the case too much longer.

Unless some outfit comes up with ridiculous money, Ashley will be here until the club starts losing him money and the only way that will happen is if we fail to get promoted, Rafa walks and the parachute payments drop off. Even one bad season in the Champ would probably not shift him but a big drop in fan numbers and no progress being made the following season would probably get him twitchy. It was only a boycott and financial pressure that shifted McKeag & Co when SJH was battling to take control and I cannot see any of the aforementioned factors happening in the foreseeable future.

3 Years min with him in charge.

Think Rafa's being used to get Ashley what he wants. All Ashley wants is that lucarative Premier League TV money and the chance to advertise shitdirect.com to a global audience again. Once he gets that, he'll go back on his promises to Rafa and that'll be the end of Rafa here. Ashley will get a puppet in place, ready to takeover.

If I was in Rafa's position, I'd walk now and put promotion in jeopardy and say fuck off to fat Mike. But Rafa is much more of class man and he'll stay as he feels he owes it to the fans.
