Rafa came on to cheers, clapped the Crowd. Non-stop Rafa chants,which turned into steady claps, then 'we want you to stay'. Lots of Newcastle fans stayed back, Spurs end already empty. Janmaat cut a troubled figure, squatting down staring into the crowd with his hand on his mouth, seemed overwhelmed to see the level of support and positivity after the players had let us down so badly. Apart from the fact it clearly doesn't work like that, we'd have gone down on goal difference anyway. The more annoying thing for me is what might have happened if Everton sacked their manager a week earlier. Absolutely everything went perfectly for the mackems in the run in. He's been shit lately admittedly but that's not due to to lack of effort, he's just not a great defender. For most of this season he drove the team forward from right back and created chances when nobody else was He's had a couple of red cards that you could see coming a mile away, I've never rated him as highly as others because defensively he's shocking and he doesn't have the brains to compensate for that either.
