Guest
Think the only way he'd have come is if we'd went all Albert Luque/Florian Thauvin on him.
joeyt
The only other real option is Jota though, really? Boro had a £4.5mil rejected for him this morning

Rich
Would be superb to get shot of De Jong and Riviere, start making inroads into the deadweight XI: Krul Gamez Hanley Good Haidara Saivet De Jong Colback Lazaar Mitrovic Riviere

Rich
We'll not be doing too badly if we get to Diame being the biggest problem with the squad, surely the only way is up after that last cameo.
morla84
Emmanuel Rivière to sign 2-year-deal with Metz Newcastle United are finally rid of French forward Emmanuel Rivière. France Football report that the player will sign a 2-year-contract in the coming hours with Ligue 1 side Metz. It is currently unclear whether or not a transfer fee is involved for the 27-year-old. louistoon
I really hope the club start offering a basic salary more dependent on whether the player is in the 25 man squad. Given the extra money in the PL, offloading surplus players is only going to get worse in time. The amount of money our out of squad players are on probably works out to 10-15 million a year. Good post. Unfortunately slimy agents will make sure that never happens IMO.
NG32
Stop buying crap players from agents spreadsheets and being forced into giving them the going rate. Actually source a better grade of player then they will probably increase in value and turn a profit for the club. If you want to follow Ashley's knock down vision of NUFC. Deuce
Don't be shocked to see Riviere turn down the move once wages are discussed. He can get in the sea in that case.

When no top player's agent accepts these terms will you complain that we have no quality in the squad? It's always going to be a Catch 22 situation. I'd personally gamble on a smaller squad all round.

Seems we always end up going for those 3rd or 4th down the list because they are cheaper, and then we are stuck with them because it turns out they are shit. ponsaelius
No he's not. He's not moving unless they can get a genuine replacement. There might be movement now, but it was always gonna be on ice during the CL qualifiers.

Last year of his contract and they're having problems agreeing a new deal. Plus he had a bit of bother with the club President when he said something about Reina's wife at a club dinner or something.
