Given assurances he will be allowed. It's 21st January.

Rafa will have known three weeks ago, given a list of names then sat back waiting. The club will over 30% less for the targets then claim they tried. Rafa knows, we know.

RB: So what the fuck is going on?

LC: Not to worry Rafa, Mike says you'll be allowed to sign players.

RB: Ah right, cool.

Seems fine.

You’d think Rafa had built some sort of clauses to give him assurances when he signed his contract though.....

As we read in the column "Evangelist" in "GATA", Newcastle wants to imitate Arsenal's strategy and "steal" a young Greek defender, who is considered a great talent. We are talking about Dimitris Meliopoulos of Xanthi, whom Rafa Benitez wants in his team either now or in the summer. Of course, Christos Panopoulos is a tough negotiator and wants to "hit" a sales record of ... Mavropanou with his 18 year old stopper. Do not forget that Olympiacos has shown interest in the Xanthi player.

If that kid has any brain he signs for Rafa.

Everton at the moment are a more stable club, and have a better record of bringing through young players. However playing for Fat Sam, fucking hell that’s enough to make any kid give up on the game.

In theory, we should be looking to upgrade across the squad.

But winger is really the last place we should be looking this window, especially with what little funds we may or may not have. It’s lowest priority.

Edit: referring to Stanislas or similarly average players, obviously Schurrle would be a different story
