Will do!

I went to Workington the weekend before last.

They're soon getting a new 'sports complex' built on the site to share with the rugby team. If anybody hasn't been there and you like old grounds it's well worth the trip over. Like a time warp.

Went to Workington a few years ago when they played Benfield in the FA Cup. Cracking old school ground, fans were very passionate as well.

Surprised by the Heed, really expected them to struggle but doing well so far at the start of the season.

Yeah and their two defeats are against teams who'll be pushing for the title. Think it'll be a struggle but looks like there are some small clubs in there. They might be okay.

Really good start and another goal for Harris. Didn't go away to this, next home game is next weekend..

Armthorpe Welfare is located at the other end of the street as where my dad lives.

I’m going to guess that Thorne isn’t far away either with it just being 2 junctions up the M18.

Ashington knocked out of the FA Trophy, and Blyth town lost as well. What with Spartans in bother, and Bedington Terriers on the brink of extinction - it's been a dismal start for these teams in SE Northumberland.

Early days though, of course.

Yeah, 4 local matches in that league today, Blyth Town the side to miss out and they are away at Hallam in Sheffield

Dunston vs Redcar Ath (1pm)

Bishop Auckland vs Newton Aycliffe

Blyth S vs Ashington

Heaton Stan vs Consett

Stockton vs Morpeth and Whitby vs Hebburn in the league above. They should have really swapped those fixtures and had Morpeth vs Hebburn and Stockton vs Whitby as both would have been more of a derby on Bank Holiday. It's Morpeth vs Hebburn on Tuesday 9th September.

Speaking of 90+8, Ashington equalised late vs Blyth Spartans to draw 1-1. Heaton battered 1-5 at home to Consett.

Just having a look at the attendances and 3,162 at Hednesford against Rushall in tier 7. Hednesford were a Conference team when I was growing up in the mid 90s, but feels like they have been in obscurity for years, but that's a hell of a crowd. You kind of expect those numbers at this level from the likes of Macclesfield and Bury who were former league clubs and relatively big towns, but I didn't expect those numbers from Hednesford.

Just over 1220 at Croft Park today. Poor game overall, but probs a fair result. Too much long ball from Blyth, who are really lacking a proper no.9 and a playmaker in midfield who can put his foot on the ball.

Me and nephew enjoyed our afternoon - good atmosphere behind the goals created by the young lads and their drums! :)
