Can't believe this is the same player I watched pre season like.

Or the one in the sheff wed game, which was one of the worst invidual performances from any Newcastle player since cacapa.

Hard to believe that was only 3 months ago.

Needs a song:

Jacob Murphy, he loves the Mags

Jacob Murphy,

His ma’s from Birtley,

He said that he’s a Geordie,

Now he plays for Eddie’s Mags

To the tune - It’s a Heartache by Rod Stewart.

Was on a stag in Albufeira when we played Forest and everyone in the bar was singing it, not sure who made it up like.

Glad he’s got the goals that his recent performances deserve. More importantly for the longer term, he is so good at just getting half a yard past his man and lofting a quality ball arcing back across the face of goal. He consistently does it and it’s a massive threat for us

Needs a highlights video of facial expressions and trolling. What an incredible run he is on. Today was years of close but not close enough, the age of hitting the wood work is hopefully done and the age of the banger is here. Still speechless from his second. Pure majesty.

Two goals? What the actual fuck?

Seriously didn't even want him in the squad a year ago, now he's an integral part of a CL squad. Eddie Howe, we salute you.

Absolutely delighted for him becoming this much of an asset to the team, after looking like he didn't have much of a future here at all. He's really quite an engaging character, too

Thing is, Murph has always got into good positions in/around the box, but always managed to fluff the finish... either wide/over or hitting the frame.

If he can bring composure to his finishing, he could be quite the asset next season.

First one today was a great finish from the angle, but second was a bit 'hit and hope' and amazingly it flew in.

Would love to see him tuck one or two away wehn he gets put through, too.
