Gillespie was definitely better than Murphy like. Be quite a distance when he was younger.

Gillespie was a lazy get for 90% of the time but gets brushed over cos of 'that game against Barcelona'.

Genuinely cannot recall a single goal he scored for us

He might have looked more flashy than Murphy, but Murphy has contributed far more in his admittedly longer time here

Sellars was probably the diametric opposite of Murphy. Didn't have a load of pace, but had a lovely touch and first pass. He was ahead of his time really, probably a bit too delicate for football in the '90s but he had a wand of a left foot.

So Viana was basically his regen for the 00s

Noticed in the last couple of games he's got a prettty good left peg. Hit a couple of really sweet shots from that side. He's really got some good qualities, if he had a better touch and a bit more awareness, he could have been a helluva player.

Would say quite the opposite actually. His left footed efforts have been poor and shows he needs to work on it if he's playing from the right and cutting in. There was the first chance against Leicester when you watch back really shouldn't have been hard to put on target at this level and then here was a similar one tonight.

But take nothing away, he has a decent right peg and as have said a few times recently, balance in teams is vastly underated and you can have lesser players in great teams if they know and play their position well.
