He's brilliant, I love him. If it fails then it'll be because his legs have gone or he breaks down again.

They always seem to get good value on both incomings and outgoings them lot. Though I would say Chiesa is made of glass, £13m is ridiculously cheap in this day and age. Less than Jack Clarke ffs.

Even if he scores a few it will end up being extremely good value.

Chiesa :( 13m Euros is a great price

Just a select few.

Approaching December, 78 minutes of football played, currently injured (unavailable for 10 of 14 games since arriving).

Hindsight a wonderful thing, but we’ve had a right touch not dropping £80m+ on him and Guehi :D

Never thought we’d be interested in Chiesa, for many reasons. When someone like that is available so easily, something is wrong.

Liverpool could take the risk because they had a massive pool of wide forwards already.

I can see that going poorly. I'm not sure I'd say he's overrated as he does have exceptional qualities, but he's certainly one of the most system-reliant players around. He can be excellent on the ball with space around him, but out of possession he's an absolute liability.

Perhaps La Liga will suit his deficiencies, it's not a league I watch so I'm not sure of the style and tempo of play there.

Fun seeing some of the reactions of Liverpool fans. Anyone would think a player's never signed a pre-contract before. According to some he must be benched or even banished from the squad so as not to derail their season.

Fair play to him, one of those offers you can't refuse but while I can't explain why, I just don't think he'll fit in in Madrid.

If the rumours about Trent leaving on a free to Real Madrid are true, it’s a massive blow for Liverpool. It’s great to see them lose a key player, but I have to admit I’m gutted about how well Slot has started. With City struggling, it’s hard to see anyone stopping the Scousers from running away with the league this season. If they do secure the title, it’ll probably help them keep Van Dijk and Salah, which is frustrating. Would’ve been brilliant to watch them lose all three on Bosmans!

Id possibly argue the opposite if they win the league, they'll probably leave on a high and take the last big pay check somewhere else

It’s a good move for him.

Real are desperate for a deep ball progressor since Kroos left. Carvajal just blown his ACL.

The only thing is this era of Madrid has had braveheart-like defenders. Marcelo days you could say they could be a soft touch but this era their defenders have been steady, determined, guts and glory types. Carvajal, Rudiger, Militao, Mendy even Alaba. Big European nights they have the temperament to grind out results backs to the wall.  Trent doesn’t have that gene.

It’s funny that they want him too.  They’ve targeted him every time they’ve played and beaten Liverpool in big games.

Bit sad to see how virtually every player just leaves as soon as real come calling. You would think a local lad would want to play for Liverpool, for his whole career given they themselves are a massive club and are perfectly capable of winning the same trophies Real Madrid are trying to win.

Maybe he just wants a different challenge, experience a new culture - it’s each to their own

Agreed.  Liverpool are unwilling to pay them the top bucks.  Another league title really cements their legacy if it was ever in doubt.  Maybe another one or two trophies. Go and get the pension money they deserve.

Real Madrid win a lot more trophies than Liverpool in the last 30 years.

I would be sad if Liverpool simply couldn’t compete financially with Real for Trent. they could - they just don’t want too.  I feel worse for Ajax losing their captain to Mike Ashley era Newcastle United for a whole £7m.
