I'm sure they've signed about 5 left backs since Emery has been there. He does seem a bit hitty miss in the transfer market

Maatsen and Moreno, and he moved Moreno on when, after his injury, he'd lost his pace.

We have two good left backs. The likes of us and you, and our fans, are so used to not thinking this way, but we need to get past the idea of a starting XI and then a supporting cast. Emery wants two good options in every position, and that is what the likes of us, and you, are going to need to make the next step forward.

FWIW i reckon we'll go for Cunha at Wolves. Only they're going to be twats over it because this is one of those one-way local rivalries we have in the west midlands and they won't want to sell to us.

I thought he'd signed Digne and someone from Levante? It's not often I'm right, and I'm wrong again

Can hardly blame them if they do, why would they sell their best player just before the deadline when they are in the bottom 3?

Yeah, just like we are twats over Isak and Villa over Watkins to Arsenal.   We are so small time :D

You can't rely on Duran - every window he would be there with his agent in his ear over money. McGinn has hinted that he's a disruptive influence behind the scenes, and he clearly does not follow instructions on the pitch, which is the biggest no-no there is with Emery.

One of the things that stood out on the NUFC match cam when he got sent off was not a single teammate looked surprised that he had done something stupid. Regardless if you think he meant to stamp on him the fact none of them seemed shocked speaks volumes.

Henry Winter:

"Sad to see such a talent as Jhon Duran giving up the Champions League for the Saudi Pro League. He’s a good finisher – fine goals against Bayern Munich, Palace, Liverpool, Manchester City, West Ham, Everton, amongst others. It’s his career, his choice so good luck to Duran at Al-Nassr. The money will be fabulous. The football less so. And now’s the wrong time to leave Aston Villa.

Villa Park is buzzing, the team going places under Unai Emery, progressing in Europe, good squad and camaraderie. He does get games (29 games and 12 goals this season) even if Ollie Watkins is first choice. He’s 21, Watkins 30 later this year. Inevitably a PSR element and Villa received an offer - £65m+ - they couldn’t refuse. Good business by Villa plus it ends the drama occasionally attached to Duran. But it’s still a shame. He gets to play with Ronaldo at Al Nassr, average gate 16,453 (the Holte End alone is 13,000+). A coup for the Saudi Pro League and Duran’s bank manager. A sad moment for his career development. He will have some big games – with Colombia."

“[James Benge] Al-Nassr already readying second and final offer worth up to £90 million for Kaoru Mitoma. Brighton are reluctant to sell.“

Insane.

Something very fishy about all this.

Yup. Said before, it makes no sense that the transfer fee has to be way over inflated aswell. Sure wages to entice players to a shot league, but why is every transfer fee atleast £20m probably over people's true value.
